Well, my brother-in-law we believe has a virus on it and my husband has gotten this great idea that we should get a new computer? Depending on a lot of things we might go ahead and get one....Any suggestions?

 

I know nothing about what to look for but I want it to have a CD burner (DVD Burner??) and lots of disk space and for it to have office programs...What are some good brands of computers and price ranges??? Thanks for all you help...

Dell, Compaq/HP, and Gateway are all good brands.

 

Only you know what your budget limit is, so how much do you think you can afford?

 

Do you also need a monitor or just a new computer?

We could probably spend around up to $700.00

 

I would like to get a new flat panel monitor b/c we have everything crammed into our bedroom since we live in an apartment and every way to save space will help.

 

We have a HP already, but I didn't know if I wanted to stick with that brand or not.

I suggest you find a good reputable local shop and have them custom build a

machine for you. Many of these shops will go out of their way to provide good

service and support. You also don't have to settle for the crap that the big

OEMs like to preload on their machines.
