Stinglesh Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Hi everyone, I'm going to my native country and I've a big list of demands from my neices and cousins for cosmetics.......I've lots and lots of stuff to buy but I donno anything about cosmetics. So all ladies out there can u plz help me......r there any good stores where I can get good deals. Thanks.
dr_butterfly Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Try the drug stores ie: walgreens, cvs etc.. they usually have buy 1 get 1 free. I suggest you get them lipsticks, blushes, mascara but no foundation or powder those things have to be picked out by them as I'm sure you don't know their skin tone/type. hope that helps
scrappynik Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I'd go to Walmart....they seem cheaper than drug stores. Plus you can always use coupons from the Sunday papers. They sell gift sets too that includes a variety of different cosmetics, etc.
Gporter34 Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I would probably go to WM and get the gift sets, and then check out the paper on Sunday. I get alot of coupons for cosmetics and use them at Walgreen's because they usually put things on sale when there is a coupon in the paper. Basically a combination of what others have said. LOL
elena_398 Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I go to Walmart and marcs (discount drug store). Most reasonable pricing and a lot of times has coupons in store
sanam Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 we dont have a marc's in cincinnati but seems like rest of ohio has stores. its so strange..
msomnipotent Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Ulta is having a pretty good sale this week. They are not a big chain yet, so you might not have one in your area.
dealluvr Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 go to some of the dollar stores for eyeliner pencils.they are good and they are cheap.
Stinglesh Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 Thanks for all the help.......well we do not have either Marc's or Walgreens...so I guess its WM for me.
biomajor Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I'd go to Target and get the ELF brand or the WetN wild brands for the younger set. The prices are nice and they like the colors.
gisellerol Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 HOW ABOUT ULTA THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING THAT BIG COSMETIC CASE ON SALE LATELY AND UNDER $20 BUCKS
pinkroses4mommy Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Check out avon.com. Go to their specials, and click on makeup sale. They have some good deals, and I think I saw a post for free shipping.
Jenn A Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I second the Ulta! I would get them the Bare Escentuals mineral makeup.I know it's a little pricey but it's wonderful for the skin.
kmbrly Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I would get them the Bare Escentuals mineral makeup.I know it's a little pricey but it's wonderful for the skin.BE is all I wear, when I wear it. Love it!!
mawrin3 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Some of my family goes to CVS and Walgreens to get some of that stuff. I would have never imagined it, but they do. I get a lot of my personal products there and my fiance and family get make up and specialty lotions like Burt's and other all natural products.
Junebug2 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 What kind of makeup are you looking for? First thing to know about makeup is there are different grades of makeup from the drugstore makeup to the high end makeup. The lower end makeup is going to have all kinds of chemicals, animal biproducts, etc. whereas the higher end makeup is going to be more natural ingredients and will actually treat you skin rather than just sitting ontop of it. I am a makeup artist for a company called Motives. I wear the makeup and really like it because of the all natural ingredients. Sometimes I will go astray and buy Bobby Brown too. She too has makeup that is more of a treatment for your skin. Just my 2 cents.
