jenmovdob Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 We are building a new house this year and will be in the market for a new dining table and appliances. Has anyone seen good furniture sales on Black Friday?
Elmck Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 My parents bought a washer and dryer on BF a couple years ago and they are still working great.
mcwalker Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) I have looked into this in past years and have not generally found furniture deals to be exceptional on Black Friday even though some of the stores will have ads. There was one deal though worth looking for: I believe it was Rooms to Go had a 50% discount on gift cards on BF. You could use these for yourself, of course, and you did not need to buy the furniture that day, which allows you to focus on other things, then come back when you are ready. Look for this deal and be sure to read the fine print before buying, and check to see it they have items you are interested in first. (There are no R2G in my area and I never used this deal.) chrisjuvers Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 The only store I remember with furniture was menards. They had good deal on living room furniture last year
chrisjuvers Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I bought my high top swivel barstools at Lowes on line last year. They were $49 and the same one's sell at sams club for $109. I picked the "store pickup" shipping option and DH picked them up when my local store opened on BF. Saved about $200 and the are really nice.
mcwalker Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 The Macy's ad has some furniture on pages 16, 18 and 19. Mattresses on page 17. No idea how these prices compare to sales at other times.
bigjimslade Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Here in Dallas all of the local furniture stores have Black Friday sales. All of them have ads in the Dallas Morning News. I would buy a papers the week of BF and look for ads.
LCPanther1975 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 My SIL and BIL brought the appliances on BF two years ago when they bought their house, got a good (not great) deal but what made it better was the free $XXX gift card they got when they bought them. They were able to buy other smaller appliances for their home.
