Brad Posted November 30, 2005 Share Posted November 30, 2005 This is something we have been planning for some time now (for other reasons more related to privacy), and the recent drama in the Lounge made this as good of a time as any. So as of now, the GottaTalk Lounge forum is semi-private. To better protect the privacy of our members who may post about personal / family matters, the forum is also not available to lurkers. It's simple - if you can see the forum, you have access and if you don't see it, then you don't have access. There are currently several hundreds members with access, and that number will grow over time. GottaDeal.com is primarily a deal site, so having an off-topic forum is not a necessity, but we don't want to close it because many of our most active members have made it their home and we are very happy to have them here. However, if the drama in the Lounge continues, we won't hesitate to temporarily or permanently remove access to the Lounge for any and all participants in these incidents. This is your first and only warning. We are not babysitters - running this site is a business. This is a private board and we have the right to run it as we would like. We ask that you act like the adults you are. After all, this is just a message board :) If you don't have access to the Lounge and would like to request it, send a PM to RossMAN or myself letting us know. If you are new and have no posts, you probably won't be granted access right away. Once we get your request, we'll either give you access or consider it at a later date. You'll know when you have been granted access because the forum will be open. Please do not continue to request access - one time is enough. If you have any other questions, comments, etc... about this change, send a PM to RossMAN or myself and we can discuss your concerns in private. Thank you.
