Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Was it just me or weren't you only allowed to get ONE big ticket item from Best Buy? I was somewhere between 50-100 in line (I say that because when I first got there at 11:20 p.m., there was under 50 people in line and by 4:00 a.m. I am all the way in the back) and all the first 10 people took almost everything! I thought it was one per person and they moved down the line and if they had extra they could pick more than one thing. God im so mad at Best buy
Mike Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 The laptop was 1 per household. The emachines desktop was 1 per person, but no limit on household.
Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Well the eMachine was NOT one per person and my location. I saw people with 2!
Mike Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Oh, it was supposed to be. At my BB, a chick did grap 2 desktop vouchers, but 1 was for her aunt.
Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ^ya, but still..you dont know that
Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 tell the lazy aunt to get in line
Gporter34 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 The people behind me for the laptop at WM bought three. They had the wife buy one for them, the hubby bought one for his mother, and the daughter bought one for herself for college. They were all going to seperate homes though. The limit was one per person, not one per family. I'm not sure what the situation was but I saw that happen at WM.
Mike Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ^ya, but still..you dont know thatHer aunt came at the last moment and jumped in line to get the 2nd voucher. It was still shady, and the BB empoyees had no problem handing out 2 vouchers for the "aunt". In this case, the aunt did show up, but I can see how people got away with 2 desktops.
Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Well, if the aunt showed up, thats better than nothing
Gporter34 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I can't believe I stood in line from 6pm Thursday til 5am Friday for a laptop for someone else. But I was only getting one and it was for my mom. She wasn't too lazy to wait for it but I didn't want her standing there all night.lol I understand what you are saying, if someone was holding a spot so that they could rush up and get one at the last minute, I would be so pissed.
Mike Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Well, if the aunt showed up, thats better than nothingmeh, I think that is the thing I hate the most. If 3 people wait in line for 6 hours to buy 3 laptops/desktops and they are in the same family/home....I could care less. What I hate is 1 person or 2 people "saving" spots in line for a whole group of people who only wait an hour or less.

No way would I stand there and hold spots for someone. They would have to stand there with me.lol:insane:
Guest general41391 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Well, at my location, a bunch of teenagers bought the eMachines...stupid teenagers! lol...well i am one...
saturnboy01 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I think in a perfect world the 1 per person or 1 per household would work good but come on people are you kidding me? When the doors open its like a wild stampede and nothing is going to stop these people from getting what they wanted.

I mean complete and utter chaos. Survival of the fittest is what it reminded me of.

saturnboy01 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Thats why the handed out vouchers The voucher system is almost as bad as the lottery system in my mind. And are you kidding me? How can you control a mob of 300+ people that are PI**ed off that the AD states min of 20 then come to find out we only got 9! That was some bulls*it that BB pulled on those folks! Glad I got mine at the 149 price.
Mike Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Voucher system worked fine at my BB. Some people who didn't get a voucher tried to buy the desktop but were turned down.
