question on memory cards for digi's

A camera or mp3 player usually only takes one type of additional storage. You have the INTERNAL memory and then can sometimes add more by using a card. Xd, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MMC/SD(Secure Digital), Compact Flash I & II, Smart Media, & IBM microdrive. are most of the common types. The only device I know of that can take more than one type are some Sony cameras. The cards are not interchangable. You must use the card your camera was designed to use.

Believe me, get the Nikon. I just steered my mom towards the 4MP Nikon over the 5MP Kodak at Best Buy. IMO, 4MP is just fine for printing. I have pictures that I printed off my old 1.3MP, and a 4"x6" looked fine. I have a 2MP Nikon Coolpix now, and it serves my needs just fine. No I don't print 8"x10"s either. I'd love the 4MP Nikon (and am contemplating adding it to my Christmas list). What you gain by getting Nikon over Kodak is greater than the extra MP you get with Kodak.

You also have to consider that if you're emailing, your recipients may not want them larger than 1MB each, which is about 2MP. (My brother in-law told my wife that I need to learn how to take pictures, because they're always too big for his screen.) :)
