Bought something, reduced by half after purchase next week, how to...

Bought an artificial tree last week half off online.

 

This week it is half off the half off. I haven't received the item yet. Is it possible/permissible to buy the cheaper one and return the one I bought.

 

Store is Home Depot.

 

Advice is appreciated.

If you don't have it yet, have you tried calling them and asking them? Re-buy it, and don't pick-up / accept the orignial one; call them and tell them you don't want it now.

I bought something at Bath & Body Works before Christmas and went in there a few days later and it was half off (when I bought it, it was $8 and when I went back in it was $4). I was paying for my stuff and looked over and noticed that it was now $4 and I said to the cashier, "I bought that the other day for $8!" and she said that for $4 she would re-buy it and return it with the original receipt. So I did.
