DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I was wondering if everyone's Best Buy did this on BF. Last year, we had employees come out about 30 minutes before opening and hand out printed out store maps with different paths to take to different items. There was a blue path, red path etc. etc. all leading to different things. You were supposed to follow the path to get to items you want. Funny thing was, the really cheap MP3 players were right in front of the exit door and you were supposed to follow this looping path through the store to get them. Needless to say...that whole idea crashed and burned the second people got into the store. I was just curious as to whether or not this is done widely at Best Buy or if it was just a local thing.
Guest general41391 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Best Buy hands out tickets for the big items so you are guarenteed to get what you want.

They still did those ridiculous floor plans though. And a LOT of people wanted the MP3 players and those were not a ticket item.

We passed out tickets for certain items before we even opened the doors. Oh and to answer your question in the other thread, I'm not going to say which item, but I do know that one of the items they have listed as being in our BF ad is actually in this Sunday's ad.
gisellerol Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 NOPE AT MY BB THEY DONT GIVE OUT MAPS ONLY BIG TICKET ITEMS AS FOR THE REST YOU BETTER HOPE YOU FIND IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE
DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 I'm guessing after seeing last year that they won't waste time with the maps again. People were running everywhere despite the attempts of employees to get them to stay on the paths.
saturnboy01 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 What happens if you have a ticket and the merchandise "disappers into thin air"?

DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 What happens if you have a ticket and the merchandise "disappers into thin air"?The ticketed items weren't on the floor. You would just bring the tickets to the register and they'd go in the back and get them.
