Well, 'good' is a subjective term, but this is for my parents who are used to the speakers built in to their TV, so basically we're going for a DD 5.1 Receiver, reasonable amount of inputs, smallish to bookshelf size speakers, a decent power rating, and a quality name (I'd like to avoid some of the extremely cheap brands). mistereman1 Posted November 13, 2005 Share Posted November 13, 2005 Go for the Yamaha XM ready if you can scrape up the extra cash. The sound is excellent and it is HDTV ready with component video switching. I don.t think the others have HD video switching.
