Hebnix Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I posted in the Target section too, but thought I'd try to inform as many as possible as I was shopping online originally! I just got an email last night that an item "Leapster Explorer Tangled" Game that I ordered on Thanksgiving afternoon is now out of stock online and it won't be in stock to be shipped until January 2012!:mad:I looked online and it says they are available IN STORE.... What a crock! After talking with the customer service agent.... "We cannot price match the online store"I DEMANDED to speak with the manager.:eyepoppin:eyepoppinAfter speaking with this guy, He mentioned that they can only do it if it was on sale in-store as well, and it has to be within 7 days! Guess what.... today is day 7! I got the email on day 6! And mentioning that the Better Business Bureau was going to hear about this!and some verification that it was "on sale", he was able to pull one from the shelves and hold it for me until later this evening! I will get the in-store BF price which is the same as the online BF sale. But how many others have received this email and not been able to get this far! Hope that it helps someone else out!!!!:cheesy:My daughter is so in love with this tangled movie that THIS was my FIRST selection of games! What a pain in the butt! Good Luck to you!:yup::yup:
peppysfireball Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I don't feel that's a bait and switch. That's when they send you something different. It is also a well known fact that the online stores do not match their brick and mortar stores. I know it sucks. but that's the way it's always been. They really didn't do anything wrong.

peifgirl Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Walmart stores will not price match Walmart.com either....I think that manager went above and beyond after all your threats.
Hebnix Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 Because they are trying to convince you that even though you bought the item already, if you want it by a certain date you'll have to pay the higher price IN STORE to get it by the date that you actually want it by... I purchased these items at 930am on Thursday.... they continued to sell them until later Friday afternoon ONLINE.... Bait-and-switch - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud, most commonly used in retail sales but also applicable to other contexts. First, customers are "baited" by advertising for a product or service at a low price; second, the customers discover that the advertised good is not available and are "switched" to a costlier product. I just wanted to try to help others that may have received the same email as well, as the last day for the price match in store was yesterday...Don't know what else that you could call this.... Instore or Online.... they are still TARGET and I am still the consumer. Like I said, just trying to get the word out to anyone else that may have ended up in this situation. Granted it was only a 10.00 swap, and I would have paid either way, it was more about the principal of the whole ordeal. I do agree, that the manager was great in the way he accommodated me but he had to be, that was already their policy.... It was just that they cannot do it after 7 days. That was why I wanted to spread the word. Hope this explains why I posted... sorry if I offended any loyal Target shoppers... I will continue to shop IN STORE, just not online after this...
letsbeon Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Could you have bought it in store and save the receipt? Then when you receive the one from your on-line purchase return that one to the store using the original receipt. Don't know....
