amyers12345
This took place in my town today. http://www.ky3.com/news/kspr-best-buy-black-friday-campers-vs-homeless-camp-20111123,0,6384553.story The guy running the camp has taken a lot of heat over the years for doing everything he can to help the community. Whether or not he's going about it the right way, his heart is in the right place. I was appalled at first, but then I realized that if people cannot sleep in a tent as a home, why should others be allowed to do it for fun? dad2trips
My town has a similar ordinance, but it has never been enforced. BTW - The title of your post is bit misleading. The campers were not ousted, just required to remove their tents.
amyers12345
They updated it after I posted. They originally asked them to leave and by the 10:00 news, it was just the tents. I don't think it wouldn't have been a big deal if not for the media pushing it due to the homeless camp.

jaymacfla
Apparently, the legislature here in Florida is going to take up the issue of tents as well. We shall see how it goes. We had heard that St. Johns county had removed campers as well.
