Melissa Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I posted this over in the "official" tablet thread in the Black Friday forum but it's being ignored. Just wondering if the Sylvania tablet on the front page of the CVS Black Friday ad is any good? This would be for basic web surfing, email, etc. ~ nothing too complex. Would YouTube videos play on this?
Jen8112 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 You weren't "ignored" over there. If you read a few posts above yours you would see that I already said that all these "cheap" tablets are a huge waste of money. Sorry I didn't post specific to your question, I thought I had. :)
ourhappyfamily4 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Melissa, I too have been wanting to buy a "cheap" tablet as it would be for a child under the age of 10! but everyone says they are no good... but i still wonder if they wouldnt be good "enough" to do basic surfing, some games, and video/music
Jen8112 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Number one thing to look for is if it has a resistive touchscreen don't buy it!. If you find a "cheap" tablet with a captive touch screen it would be better. If you do get one make sure you open it and play with it before you give it to them for Xmas. :)
peppysfireball Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I also posted over there that they are crap. I don't care if it's a toddler,I don't believe in throwing my money away on crap. I try to get the best deal I can on a good brand. YOu're always happier in the long run.
peppysfireball Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I also posted over there that they are crap. I don't believe in throwing my money away on crap, no matter what age the child is. There are people on amazon buying the fire for 5 and 6 year olds, because of all the educational apps and now netflix streaming. I believe in getting a good deal on a good brand. It's always worth it in the end.
