MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 7, 2011) — Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) today announced a new benefit to its already popular REDcard Rewards loyalty program: free shipping on Target.com purchases when guests use their REDcards. In addition, for the first time Target Debit Cards can be used on Target.com. “REDcard free shipping provides great value for our guests today and every day and it’s easy to understand – no minimum purchase requirement, no membership fee and available nationwide,” said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising, Target. “With the holiday season right around the corner, this new benefit makes it even more convenient for our guests to shop Target for great gifts and enjoy our great prices.” Target’s REDcard Rewards loyalty program applies to the Target REDcards, including the Target Credit Card, Target Visa Credit Card and Target Debit Card. The program offers guests an extra 5% off Target’s already low prices on nearly all items purchased in stores and online when they use a REDcard. Additional REDcard benefits include: Take Charge of Education, in which Target donates 1% of participating guests’ REDcard purchases at Target and Target.com to the K-12 school of the guest’s choice. Pharmacy Rewards, which offers participating guests a certificate for a 5% off day of shopping every time they use the REDcard to purchase five prescriptions at Target; the certificate can be combined with the 5% off REDcard Rewards everyday savings. Guests can apply for a REDcard at any Target store, or learn more about REDcard benefits and print an application at Target.com. Their new website is TERRIBLE -- takes FOREVER to load and keeps freezing up. You'd think they'd get it in working order before Black Friday.
