You do have to watch the small pieces around them though. But it would make a nice start to the collection that they could use yearly. I wish I had boys...lol. My girls couldn't care less about a LEGO and Star Wars is like poison to them!

This is the first time we have seen star wars. You could always buy it and then put it away for another year. Once these sell out, they can be difficult to find, and expensive. I found some pics of trays inside box on amazon but what is the actual calendar portion made out of? eek!! I got my answer as an Amazon review notes: Sooooooo disappointed in this piece of junk. Made of very cheap flimsy cardboard and can only be used once. Very poor design and will most likely tear or rip when trying to open the days.....Gawd this piece of junk is awefull!!!Ther toys/items are so small they should be a choking hazard...completed! Worthless piece of JUNK!!!

tinkrbel
Thanks for the heads up because I saw nothing but good reviews on the WM site.there's a lot of good reviews on amazon but I for one do not pay $40 for something the kids may or may not grow into AND be a one use toy. Plus if the pieces are that small I can guarantee they'll be lost and sets never usable after 1st use.
Stowasser
The Playmobil advents are boxes versus windows, I actually used them several times over the years, just put Lego sets in them instead of the Playmobil.
tinkrbel
that's what a lot of reviewers were saying. I haven't looked yet but will probably keep an eye out in case they go sale price/clearanced. I found an advent Lego set at Target clearance last year but didn't get it because box looked like it was probably missing lots of stuff.

Worthless piece of JUNK!!!I read that review as well, and I would like to point out that the idea behind the calendar is the mini-figures inside, not the container. As I said before, we buy the themed one every year. Legos are expensive, and I don't know of any set that has 24 mini-figures for under $40. They sell individually for $3 and up, so for us it is a deal, and the cool factor. This particular set has the santa yoda, which is exclusive to this set.
