angel_parker1999 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I am looking for some really inexpensive Christmas gifts for my husband's family big Christmas party (for some of his little cousins) and I noticed that the Walmart ad is advertising two different Hot Wheels items ( 2-pack Fly Wheels or Hot Wheels Gravity Set). However I am not accustomed to buying many little boy toys or hot wheel and was wondering if any one could tell me what these items really are and if they would be make decent gifts. Thanks.
Gporter34 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I have had bad experiences with the Hot Wheel Race packs on BF at WM. They don't last long, or maybe my boys are just too tough on them. lol What ages are they? The board game 2pks may be a good idea...
gijimenez Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The race packs don't last long and then they are all over the place. I don't get them for my son. I am trying to get rid of the ones he already has although he always puts up a fight.
angel_parker1999 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 I think they are about 5 & 6. I don't really see them that often so I don't know much about them, excpet they are into cars and dinosaurs.
Momto32003 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 angel_parker1999...Just an FYI...TRU has there 5 pack of Matchbox and another brand for Buy 1 Get 1 FREE!! They are $4.99 a pack. No limit from what I saw.
shanni Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The 4.99 ones are OOS they only have the 6.99 ones left, and when you use the coupon code, it only takes off the 4.99 so you would have to email them after your puchase, but they will correct it.
starshine Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 If you are going to be at a party I would not get them the fly wheels. Those things take off like a rocket and someone will get hurt! I would recommend some books or maybe coloring books then you can open gifts and the kids can color. You know all these kids get so many toys for Chirstmas that they will not miss the toys and the parents will really apprecitate something quiet!!!
bayhaysay Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 My son, 4 1/2, loves dinosaurs. A few weeks ago I bought him a bag of little plastic dinosaur figures at Walmart for 2.97 and he plays with them all the time. He got some kind of little hot wheels set last year for Christmas and the parts didn't fit together just right so therefore the cars didn't "drive" right. He still plays with the cars but the sets are long gone.
copados1993 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 What are the ly wheel sets? I've never heard of them.
