Looking for a good deal on an LCD TV. Budget of around $500, give or take. Preferably at least 20" - bigger is better, of course (but not really). What do you guys think about ViewSonic and/or Olevia/Syntax? Any personal experiences/good reviews? I can wait till BF, but I'm not sure what kind of deals we're getting this year, so I thought I'd start exploring some options...

Here's some of the better options I came across:

I too, am looking for a 19 or 20" LCD TV. Someone else pointed out the Viewsonic to me, but I'm skeptical b/c I've never heard of Viewsonic before and I'd rather go with a reputable brand like Sony or Sharp. I'm also considering the Dell LCDs. Can anyone comment on how Viewsonic/Dell compare to Sharp and Sony?

btw, the Viewsonic 2010 is a little cheaper at ZipZoomFly.com, $50 rebate expires tomorrow.

IMHO, for Viewsonic to "add" a TV tuner to a LCD monitor is a very natural transition. By that I mean, I would expect a Viewsonic LCD TV to be every bit as good as their computer monitors.

That being said, I couldn't find ANY reviews of it, either by Googling or through Epinions...

Resolution Is Way Too Little

Purchased this in October 2005 because it seemed like a good value for a 20' TV. Item arrived the next day, NewEgg is the best! Upon arrival I was surprised to see the poor quality of picture, and especially weird colors when displaying pinks, bright reds and bright blues. Other then the poor quality of the image TV looked great (physically). Resolution on this TV is way to little 640x480. It should be around 600x800 to experience a decent picture. Newegg has been great on the return thought.

Thanks for all of your replies. I decided to hold off on that Viewsonic deal, and I'm hoping to find a good deal on a Sharp, Sony, or Dell (less than $500). So if anyone finds one, let me know. Thanks!
