Guest DigDoug Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Is it jsut me or is GottaDeal slow today? Page loads are taking forever.
Marcster Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Me too! Maybe that's why they're moving to the new server tonight.http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=16087
Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Yeah I noticed that as well. Page load times are 5+ seconds for some reason. The server load is not high, so there must be something else going on - possibly with the network.
Guest DigDoug Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Ok, so it's not just me. It is paiiiiinful. I imagine giving birth to be like this.
Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 We're going to submit a ticket and have it looked at.

Guest DigDoug Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 For the record, I have 6,500 posts and 1 million Gottapoints. If the site goes down, I want them back.
outnumbered Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Yeah--I just got back from running errands and it's incredibly slow. I even got error messages a few times when I tried to click on various threads.
Marcster Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Ok, so it's not just me. It is paiiiiinful. I imagine giving birth to be like this. Just start doing some Lamaze till things get back to normal.
outnumbered Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Just start doing some Lamaze till things get back to normal. Lamaze doesn't do CRAP for pain. He needs drugs. Good drugs! LOL
Angelseyes28 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Lamaze doesn't do CRAP for pain.ROTF boy that's the truth!!!
Kandy Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 no lamaze does nothing... pain meds IV. Ive also been getting this page is not found.
Marcster Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 What's the point of Lamaze? To pay salaries for the instructors? Give expecting parents something to do? I've never heard of it working for anyone.
Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Back to the topic.... Try the main GD site or the BF site and see if you are getting the slow 5+ second page load times and it if seems crawling, or if it's just the forum.

Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Thank you Marcster. That's what I'm experiencing as well.
Marcster Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Brad -- Seems to have worked itself out. No problems now. --Marc
Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 For some reason that menu we had at the bottom of every forum page listing the latest 20 deals on GD was causing the slowdown. I still have no idea why it was causing a problem today as we've had that menu there since we upgraded the forums and we had twice as much traffic last week without seeing a problem. We haven't touched it since then but for some reason today it started acting up but luckily I was able to figure it out :) Still scheduled to move servers later tonight :)
outnumbered Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Thanks, Brad! It's nice to feel like I'm on cable internet when I'm on cable internet.
Brad Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Thanks, Brad! It's nice to feel like I'm on cable internet when I'm on cable internet. LOL. We planned it like that. This was "turn back the clock" day on the forum. Experience what it would have been like in 1998
