I'm sure there's a few stores having end-of-season sales for their merchandise - lawnmowers being one of them. Check out your local Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menard's. Sears has their 5.5hp mower with the Honda engine on it for $250, which is a good price. Those mowers last forever on very little maintenance. Just keep them clean and winterize them. We got a Black and Decker electric mower for like 80.00 I think (this was at the beginning of summer so have forgotten price) and it is good.
