beck6100 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Ok my vacuum has been on its way out and it finally bitvthe dust. Looking for a gd one without spending a mortgage payment. We have both rug and hard floors with dog hair. Thanks for any thoughts.
chr05angel Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I have gone Eureka and will never go back. It beats a dyson any day. I have one for pets but they just came out with the Eureka Air for about $100 and it is said to work wonderful as well. The first link is the one I have and the second is the new one.Eureka Pet Capture Eurkea AirSpeed
ISU ME Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I love my dyson dc17. I have 2 cats, so tons of cat hair and it picks everything up! My only complaint is it is very heavy!
beck6100 Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 I never had a upright before. Is it easy to get the hose in and out to clean corner etc. My kenmore it's pretty quick n easy.
ISU ME Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) The hose/wand on the DC17 is actually what sold me on it. Its super easy to use. There are pictures on this page that show how you pull the hose out.http://www.dyson.com/store/product.asp?product=DC17-ALLFLOORS Edited March 1, 2011 by ISU ME

pretweety7 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 That does look great. Now to find a gd deal on somthing.Check out the forum online deals and there is a post there for Dyson vacuum cleaners.
Cinnamonhuskies Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 i do not like my Bissell for Pets that I paid $160 for. I went back to my old Kirby for picking up dog hair. I really miss the Fantom Thunder vacuum I had in the early 90's. I wish they still made them.
Buckeye Shopper Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I love my dyson too. I have never had much luck with a bissel, I am hard on my vacuum. I have an older dyson model it's an animal type with the ball. The hose is built into the handle, and is super easy. My mom has the basic dyson model, and her hose system is different, I don't care for it as much. My mom also has a Hoover wind tunnel that works well, but I love my dyson more:)
ISU ME Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I hate my bissel too. Once I actually vacuumed my whole house at once and the vacuum got so hot that a plastic part inside the vacuum melted and it wouldn't turn on anymore. Bissel replaced the vacuum at no charge (out of warrenty) once I told them what had happened, but I am still scared to use the new one...no way should it ever get that hot! It didn't pick up as much as the dyson either!
Guest bluecamel1913 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I'm surprised nobody mentioned Hoover, my WindTunnel Air works like a charm, easy to clean too.
