dont take one just put your money or cards in your pocket and you dont have to keep up with it and no one can get in your pocket

I usually wear the purse across my body under my (long denim) jacket since I go out on my own.

I don't carry my purse, no. When in heavily populated places, I put my money/debit/license in my front pockets.
