alihirsch Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Hi, my graphic card just gave up it was a 9800GT. I am looking for something similar maybe a little bit more up to date. Of course I am here to look for a good deal so something that is as good and hopefully in a good 100-150$ range :). Thanks
nirvana4all Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 1. do you have a agp or a PCI-e connector? I know 9800 came in both.2. are you looking new, or would you go used too?3. Look here for some idea on info for ya. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-radeon-hd-6870-radeon-hd-6850,2782-3.htmlprobably a 5770 if you have PCI-e http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125327 maybe step up to a 5850? even if it is used....http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100282-3SR/dp/B003D0IS3K/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1289789231&sr=1-4
alihirsch Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 I got a Gateway fx4710 - ub802a and as far as i know it has PCI-E 2.0 ×16. I am not sure about used graphiccards, I am a little bit afraid of buying it used.
nirvana4all Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 If that is the case, then based on your budget you have a lot of new 5770 card options, may every once in a while find one of the new 6850 cards on sale. Now, the 6850 has performance on par with 5830, not the 5850, but new tech upgrades just to remember.
