Last year my daughter wanted Kit and I was able to get the holiday package. This year she wants a just like me doll and I would like to find a descent discount. I feel like I should order it pretty soon to make sure I get it before Christmas though. It's looking more and more like it will be around $200 for the doll and a matching set of outfits....Yikes! The only discount I seen is for the historical dolls, and I think that's 10.00 off and a free shipping code with a 50.00 purchase. Nothing for just like me tho. I don't recall there being any discounts on dolls on the Monday sale though. Just accessories. This worked out well for me becasue a bunch of the accessories on sale were ones my daughter had wanted. The only bad thing was the site was not able to respond with all the traffic. A bunch of us had to call in our orders. There is probably a thread on this from last year because I remember that is how I found out about others calling in which led me to do so as well. tgunn_ocs Posted October 26, 2010 Share Posted October 26, 2010 The free shipping can be helpful....my mom usually handles all the American Girl Doll Stuff for my three girls (4,5 & 6). Needless to say she ends up spending north of $500 bucks on stuff for their dolls when its all said and done and the free shipping often ends up saving 10%. That being said, I recommend looking at Michael's or at the Madame Alexander clothes (Walmart, Target, & Toys R Us).....its a great way to add many more outfits for far less cost....this can be especially helpful when starting out. Most 18" Doll clothing works great with the American Girl stuff....we save the American Girl Doll boxes and put them clothes in them....the girls never know the difference and have a blast with them. I usually get my items in less than a week and that is with standard shipping. Threy do not have sales on the dolls very often. Actually only one time that I can remember in the last 4 years.
