madalienmonk
Yeah I saw that, 20% off is a little lackluster. What do the others usually do? (Amazon and BN)
fluffkin79
Last year Walmart and Amazon had a price war on books and movies. I think Target got involved, too. Are you looking for a new release or an older book?
danawales29
Man if all the stores especially amazon and powells would do a percentage off and free shipping but make sure the free shipping applies to used book sellers as well they would make a killing off me. Just sayin.:)

Are you looking for a new release or an older book? Both! A price war in what way? Just under cutting each other on the newest books, or coupons with higher and higher % off to out do each other? danawales29
There were 10 books all coming out on the same day so I think walmart said ok were doing $10 for all of them then by the next day amazon had lowered there prices. Oh and I believe that some were preorder as well. I remember I got the new John Grisham on preorder at like 9 or 9.99. It was a good deal. Here's an article about it.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704322004574477050954174722.htmlDana

mausibaer
Big fan of the Amazon pre-order program with guaranteed release date delivery. The "hot" releases almost always are on sale and qualify for PRIME shipping. About half of the time I actually get the book a day earlier than the official release date. madalienmonk
Hmm I prefer Fantasy books which aren't usually in the top 10 or that "hot" either, am I SOL?
