Mursilis Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Here is an interesting article about best Buy and Black Friday from tvpredictions.com LINK Link blocked where I am. What does it say? Thanks!
bigjimslade Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 The BB CEO said that come Black Friday that there will be deals but did not give any price points. BB has a press conference last week and said the same thing. They see this as a connected holiday and will focus on mobile products like netbooks, phones, tablets. Link blocked where I am. What does it say? Thanks!
jaymacfla Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I suggested that they provide WIFI outside of the store for the week of Black Friday. They are mildly interested. I stated that it would not be a very connected Christmas if customers were disconnected from purchases outside their stores, while others at home were the only ones able to shop in that matter. It does not have to be this way now that technology is there.

If all else fails, just look for a PC without the demo software and check the WiFi props. :)

jaymacfla Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Those of us that are long time campers are well aware of this. the problem is that it is their internal network and it is locked out to us at this time. I am trying to get it opened up for everyone by Black Friday.

I am trying to get it opened up for everyone by Black Friday. There are other networks in my area. But this year i'll have wifi from my phone. So either way im set. 33 days baby!, Just a little more then 30 till we start the campin! lol.
jaymacfla Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I am getting the Wifi thing straight also. We got it from a nearby free net, but the fidelity was weak in front of the store. You had to go to the end of Best Buy to get a good signal. I will be building Cantennas and will test out a yagi antenna as well.

If all else fails, just look for a PC without the demo software and check the WiFi props. :) We can see Best Buys network outside my location but we do not have the passwords to get into the network. I have internet on my phone but it's still easier and quicker on a laptop, lol.
dad2trips Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I tether my Droid to my laptop. Works decent for web browsing, but can't really stream video too well. Sometimes it's OK for video, but not reliable.
