racerfan
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have to get a present for a family member and he wants downhill skis. I dont know anything about skis so I am hoping someone here can help me. Do they come in different sizes or is there something I should look for. Where are some good place to shop and are there any deals out there. Thanks for any and all help.

lukesmom01
I don't have but a second to post, but rei.com is a good place to buy downhill skiis. yes they do come in different sizes. if the person you are buying them for has skiied before they probably know what size they use. It is a combination of height, weight, ability and preference. You really need to find out from the person if they know what size they ski on. Generally the longer you have been skiing the longer the ski. Also, you have to know if they prefer shaped or straight skiis. sorry I can't explain in more detail and I hope this makes sense. I will try to post more when I have time. But if you go to the rei.com website and get their number, they have people who can explain it all to you better than I can.
