Baseball gloves have definite different styles depending on the position he plays. Since he is the coach, I can't really tell you what glove style he'd want to use.

They also come in sizes depending on the size of the player's hand.

And they come in different colors.... And some people like one brand over another.

It's not as cut and dry as buying someone a gift basket.

This is a personal decision and something that he'd use regularly (or "live with" if you get something he isn't crazy about).

If you want him to have a new glove, I strongly suggest a gift card to a sporting goods store so he can pick out what he wants. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Sports%20Exercise/thbaseball_mitt.gif

Since baseball gloves range in price from about $30 for the cheapos to $350+ for pro quality, a gift card (even if not for the full cost) would help towards whatever glove your coach wants.

I agree with Scott- and you're going to be hard pressed to find one right now. I was looking everywhere in August because mine broke and I could only find about 3 options in all of our stores. I bought one I didn't like for $40 (it was on clearance) and the next week I found the one I really, really wanted at the Nike outlet for $8

The clearance them all out in July/August to make room for football/hockey gear. They bring them back out in Jan/Feb.

You might try looking on Ebay for one just like his old one if he really liked it.

I'm not Scott. ;)

You can buy them online: Amazon, Modell's, Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods and rawlingsgear.com all have them.

Could I also suggest something more universal for a baseball coach (or player)?

Rawlingsgear.com has a Buy 2 Get 1 Free special going on till 12/16 on all their accessories:

Things like the Primo Glove Butter and a Glove Break-in Kit would be useful no matter what glove he chose.

In my opinion, trying to buy a glove for a baseball player is like trying to shoes for someone else.

He's not too picky about his glove. But it has to be for a lefty, a texted ds and he knows what dad whats, so we're going out this week. I think we'll hit dicks's first.
