Suzy Crampton Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Can anyone tell me if the Toshiba laptop is a good deal or not? I just want a laptop for internet and maybe for the kiddos to use to type a paper on for school. We have a desktop so this would be just a bonus computer. TIA!
masylimed Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 FYI Went to our local Walmart yesterday for the Harry Potter Movie. The Blu-Ray/DVD/digital copy combo pack listed as $19.96 on the in-store special sell is ringing up right now for $15.00. The normal DVD was ringing up for $19.96. I didn't do the pre-order thing for $9.99, but I thought $15.00 for the blu-ray was a pretty good deal.
MelissaS Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The Space Police Lego in that ad currently retails for $26.10 at Walmart.com, it's going to be on sale for $29.96?? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11081134
AndreaInNC Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 kewl - the Blu Ray player is the same price as Black Friday! I think I might need to pick up another one for a gift for the kids' dad.
blountl3 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Can anyone tell me if the Toshiba laptop is a good deal or not? I just want a laptop for internet and maybe for the kiddos to use to type a paper on for school. We have a desktop so this would be just a bonus computer.TIA! Suzy, since there's not a model# listed, I can't be sure this is the EXACT same one, but there is a Toshiba laptop at walmart.com for $298 that lists identical specs. I'd say, based on the BF sales, this is an excellent deal for what you are going after. WM had a similar deal (Hewlett-Packard- $298 for 3GB) a couple weeks before BF and they flew off the shelves. The best deal for BF was a HP 2GB for $200. This is $100 more, not a BF item and has 1 GB more. It also a CD/DVD burner. I'm not familiar with the AMD Sempron processor, so you might want to ask around about that, but otherwised, I think this would be perfect for what you need it for. Goodluck Here's the specs for the Toshiba listed on the site:): Offering solid performance and a broad array of features, the Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5974 was designed with you in mind. mtsuboy Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The 46" Sony TV and PS3 bundle is an AWESOME deal.
blountl3 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 The 46" Sony TV and PS3 bundle is an AWESOME deal. You are so right! It's basically getting the PS3 bundle for free!! Too bad I can't use a 46" TV right now.......I DO need a PS3, though!

princessbsl Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Our Walmart said they won't have the laptop until Sunday and even then, they will only have 2! We have a tiny Walmart.

I just want a laptop for internet and maybe for the kiddos to use to type a paper on for school. We have a desktop so this would be just a bonus computer.TIA!I don't have time to comment on the details of this, but I can tell you that we purchased Toshiba laptops on Black Friday twice, once in 2005 and once in 2006, and we are still using them. We use them primarily for internet and Microsoft Office applications. Never had a problem, except for my kids getting viruses on mine, but that is another story.
Cinnamonhuskies Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 magnavox blu ray player question...... even at $78 I'm having a hard time convincing myself we truly need this. It is just a player, and doesnt do netflix, which I've read is a good idea to have in a player. We have a 32" 720p tv, and I like buying the cheap plain dvds instead of pricier blu rays. I don't thkink I'd be able to notice a difference in picture quality with the type of TV we have and just playing regular dvds. What do you think?
pmpdchef Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 The 46" Sony TV and PS3 bundle is an AWESOME deal.I was looking at this deal but I didn't know if it was a good deal or not. Do you know what the actual model that this tv is? Does anyone know the specs on it. I didn't find a link that went to an actual tv.
dad2trips Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Just got back from my Walmart to get the Xbox 360 deal. The gift card did not ring up during checkout so they checked into it and said the deal did not start until Sunday. They still managed to give me the GC though. Everything I have seen indicates it starts today. Anyway, they were taking down the ad next to the systems. For someone who asked about the Blu-Ray player... I think it is a great deal for a pure BR player, but agree without Netflix it's limited. Still a good deal though if you don't intend to stream Netflix.
npw08 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I went into my Walmart today and they had the laptops that are $299, on sale already. The sale isn't supposed to start until tomorrow but they had them in the case and sold out while I was there. You might want to call your Walmart and ask.
