civiclover88 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I have to vent before I explode. Ordered two sheet sets from Kmart on BF. Waited till Tuesday to check to see how the order is doing. Still no shipping info yet their estimated date of arrival to me is December 4th! What there is NO way they are making that. So I e-mail Kmart to check the status. They stated that it takes 1-2 business days to process and that ETA is Wednesday, 12/3. Umm, I'm not a rocket scientist but I know my dates, THURSDAY is the 3rd. I e-mail them back explaining that they have completely messed up the dates. Then I call; I get the rudest lady I have dealt with in a while. Asked if that date is their warehouse delivery date or arrival to my door. She states that is to my door. I go" So you must be shipping it next day air". She laughs and says No it takes 7-10 business days to get to me. WHAT! I told her to cancel the order, I BETTER get an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation and now I understand why Kmart and Sears are a hair from closing down. ARGHHHHHHHH!
bpr Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I can understand being mad at the Kmart personnel for being rude, but the estimated date is just that; estimated. No real reason to get upset. I got things BEFORE my estimated date this week from things I ordered on BF and also one item that has not shipped. It has been delayed and will ship later. I got six packages today and some were not supposed to be here until the 5th. But like I said, I've had my share not make the estimated date either. I just take it in stride. The only time I get worried is when I get a tracking number and it stops tracking after it leaves their facility. I did have to have Amazon re-send a package a few weeks ago. No problems. They even sent the second one one-day shipping .
christib327 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I recently had a bad experience with Kmart too. I ordered a giraffe rocker for my littler girl. It said it should be delivered 11/25. That came and went so I went into the site to check on the order. It still said estimated delivery 11/25, so I sent them an email. They said they were out of stock and should have more in in two to three weeks. I don't HAVE to have it for Christmas, I just really wanted it for her, so I was willing to wait. I emailed back and told them I wanted to make sure they'd be sending it when it came in. NOPE. She said it had been cancelled because they don't do backorders. An email stating it was cancelled would have been nice!!! Why just leave it and forget about it until I ask? That is totally frustrating
civiclover88 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 @ bpr .....if you're employer or mates' employer pulled this sort of thing with your/their payroll check, would you be upset? On a better note, the incompetence of Kmart shines through again. I tried to cancel the order. The CSR stated that they will try but because of their automated system that supposedly makes things faster and more convenient. HA! Well, long story short, I got an email today that states the order shipped today, December 3rd. However, according to UPS, the package was shipped November 30th and is to be delivered today. Why did it take soo long to get the shipped e-mail if it was already shipped. Even CS had no idea that the package had shipped. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I'll get my stuff, but WOW. This, to me, shows incompetence.
happysunshine28 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I understand how rude people can get to you. We all need to keep in mind we only have to wonder about our orders, the stores we ordered from had thousands of orders and that could result in a delay in things getting processed and shipped or even emails from them. I got an automated call from staples that my order was delayed, after I received it. I thought that was so funny.
civiclover88 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I just know now that Kmart.com is as bad as Circuit City, Sears (huh, how convenient, the same company basically), and a few others are. If they don't straighten up there act, they are going to go the way of the dodo bird; extinct. I will never step foot or order again from these stores.
amyers12345 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I got something similar from Amazon yesterday- a product I ordered (with Prime) was not supposed to be in stock until 12/3 and plainly said that on the site. Yesterday I got a notice that it had been delayed and wouldn't be here until Friday- as the UPS guy was knocking on my door. Kmart's online ordering has always been lackluster to say the least. They charge very high shipping and have very few items in stock (as you'll see when you get to checkout only). I personally won't order from them- too messy. Sears has a great website, you would think that they would maintain a similar format. As far as grouchy people... I can't stand to even leave the house anymore, as everyone I encounter is so gripy! I used to hate working from home or being a SAHM during the holidays because it seems prevent you from getting in the spirit when you're not exposed 24/7. Now I LOVE it!!! (But I hate people!)
civiclover88 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I love Amazon. I ordered movies from them 11/26 and had the package on my doorstep on 11/30. That's how it should be. The package was to me before USPS had time to update their website. I definitely recommend them (as long as you are buying from Amazon themselves).

I was slightly defending the fact that shipping and tracking are a different animal. they take time to update online and such and sometimes are not always accurate. So if you had sat back and waited a bit more, maybe none of this would have occured and no one would have gotten upset . Everything is working out fine, other than you having the wrong date for receiving your items. Hope you have no more problems.
