Cora
Hey, I am in the process of making a documentary about Black Friday! This is an independent documentary, which I am planning to shoot this fall/winter on and around Black Friday with the intention to submit it to film festivals. At this point, I am looking for people who would like to be interviewed for this project. Interviews would be about 30 minutes long and you must be willing to be interviewed on camera and sign a release form, allowing me to use the interview as part of my documentary. It would be good if you lived in the NYC or Jersey City/Hoboken/Secaucus area as I am planning to shoot the documentary in these locations. Please let me know if you're interested in sharing some Black Friday experiences!
mcwalker
Your best bet is to find people in line both on Thanksgiving day and through the night. Take your release forms and do on the spot interviews. (People have a lot of time on their hands then.) Then do additional interviews during the day (but after people are finished with the initial rush. (Most lines are on private property, which may be an issue, but you can always move to another store if any store reps/security challenge you.) (I am in New York City, but will be heading in the opposite direction from you--to Long Island--for my shopping.)
