  1. On Walmart.com, search for the article called "Our Ad Match Guarantee". It does not say anything about excluding BF ads. To be safe, you may want to print it out and take it with you on BF. WM is my first stop every year. I get all the dvds and other stuff I want to price match in my basket, then hang out by the pallet that has what I want until they drop the ropes. I've never had a problem with WM not matching the price at other stores. Even if the store opens later than when WM releases their items and the ad says price valid from __ am to whenever, WM has always price matched for me.
  2. They aren't doing anything special right now, this is how they normally are. Great deals one at a time until either the qty or timer gets to zero. Since it is the main selling time of the year, most deals are now lasting less than an hour or so.

    Stupid CC with S&H

    I agree! CC =
  4. Since the ad said that the sale started at 7:00 I got there right around 7:00. I went back to photo and the guy told me "we sold out of those a little after 6 this morning." I said "I thought the sale started at 7:00." He said "we opened early at 6:00 today." I asked for a raincheck and he said no. I asked where the next closest store was and he listed a few and said those stores were all out also. He also said each store only got about a dozen each. I was not happy. That and the led flashlights from Home Depot were the only 2 items I wanted that I didn't get. Home Depot ad said they would be open normal hours today so I went by a little after 7:00 figuring they opened either at 7 or 8 like Lowes, but their normal opening time is 6 am!
  5. Unless things have changed, WM associates aren't really informed about the cc offers unless a tear off credit promo pad gets stuck up and they take the time to read it. At least that is the way it was in the store I worked at. Also, some associates who don't know much/don't care (Ryan at store 1507) will say whatever they think the customer wants to hear. Basically, I am just warning you to do your own research.
  6. I worked in electronics at a WM for about 2 years. I recommend staying away from the tv's made by Funai Electronics. Those tv's are the ones we had returned the most often. Magnavox used to be good when it was owned/made by RCA/Thompson Electronics, but now it is a Funai brand. Here is a list of Funai brands of tv's from their website: Funai, Symphonic, Sylvania, Emerson, Aventura, Durabrand, Esa, Magnavox, and Misakai. If you look at the yellow and white shipping label (towards the bottom if I remember correctly), it should say who the tv came from. I finally got fed up with WM and quit about a year and a half ago when LCD tv's were just starting to take off, so I can't tell you which of those to avoid.

    ShopKo?

Off topic- I miss ShopKo. That is the best retail store I have ever worked for. Friendly and competent store managers (most of them anyways), and a great team all around who actually cared about the employees and did stuff for us (dinners, prizes, fun events, etc..). I spent way too much money there while I was working there. I worked at store #161 in Wichita, KS (former Venture store location) from April of '99 when I helped open up the location until April of '01 when I helped close it down. I worked at Sam's, Target, and WM after that, and now I have gotten out of retail, but if ShopKo ever decided to come back to town, I would be the first one in line wanting to work there. Maybe now that they have gone private and have different people running the company, they will decide to come back. If anyone from ShopKo's corporate office is reading this, store #162 is still empty and the 2 stores that were here in Wichita were #1 & #3 most profitable stores that were opened up in former Venture locations.
  8. I love the self checkouts, but unfortunately I was told that as the other WM's in town get their remodel to look more like Target, the self checkouts will be going away at those stores. I think it has a lot to do with whether or not the store manager and/or district manager wants to have them or not. I personally try to avoid the WM's that don't have them since I hate waiting in line. When I do end up at one of the WM's that doesn't have them, if I see a manager while I am shopping or CSM nearby when I go to check out, I mention that since they don't have the self checkouts I am saving my grocery/other big shopping until later when I will go to the (insert location) WM since they have the self checkouts. Since the more money the store makes, the bigger the bonuses are, hopefully they care enough to pass this info on to whoever makes the decisions about having self checkout or not. Also, someone mentioned the code for bananas way up in the thread. The code is actually 4011. It has been almost 2 years since I worked at WM and I still remember that number for some reason. A lot of produce will have little stickers with just a few numbers on it. This is the code you type in so you don't have to look it up on the sheet.
  9. Several posts up somebody was asking for the DPCI for the fridges that are on clearance. Sunbeam 3.9 cu ft fridge 072-01-0159 Original price $119.99 Sunbeam 1.7 cu ft fridge 072-01-0160 Original price $64.99 This item does not show up using the inventory locater. I just looked on Amazon to see if there is an ASIN we could use, but there isn't. I guess if you are looking for one you will have to call the store and ask if they have any. I guess I should hit refresh before posting if I get distracted and leave the computer for a few minutes...
  10. School supplies have all gone salvage here and have been pulled from the floor. I have had some luck finding unmarked items mixed in with the regular office supplies in the aisle. Just look for items with slightly different packaging. I have found 24 pack sharpies mixed in with the 25 packs, bic round stick grip pens with that say bonus 2 free on the package, and a few other items that I can't think of right now. They scan as "Item Not Found" so you should be able to get them for next to nothing. Also over in hardware I have found lots of combination padlocks that scan at 75% off mixed in with the full price ones. The packaging is slightly different and the bar code is different. The full price locks have a picture of 4-5 locks on it showing how secure it is, but the $.98 locks do not. The pic is on the let hand side towards the top of the lock, if I remember correctly. The HP A310 photo printers do not show up on the inventory locater. I tried both the DPCI and the ASIN. What I did is go to a Target and have them look in the computer to see if any other stores in the area had any. When they asked if I wanted them to call the store that showed some on hand, I said no because I didn't want an employee at the other store to discover the great deal and grab the rest for themselves. I drove across town to the store that showed 4 on hand, but when I got there they had none. I am guessing they had a full case in the back room that isn't scanned into a shelf location since the I had the girl in electronics check the computer and it still showed 4 on hand. Oh well. At least I found 8 of the MM 10 packs today (although I forgot about the new coupon).
  11. I did a quick update to the clearance deals list. I would love for it to be the most complete list of Target clearance deals anywhere on the internet, but to do that I need some more volunteers. If you would be interested in helping me keep the list updated, even if it means only adding the deals you see in this forum, please send me a PM and let me know. Thanks
  12. Those things are great! I have tons of photo paper I got for 75% off and a couple of spare ink cartridges (with more photo paper) that I got for 50% off a few months ago. I also got a couple of the optional battery packs for 75% off. Now I can print photos anywhere and for cheaper than at any store. The only downside is that it takes about a minute per photo to print so if you want to print a bunch of photos at once it is going to take a while. I have been watching the price on these. They are still at 50% here in Wichita, KS, but I am guessing this Monday will be the day they go to 75%. I am hoping to get a few more of these to use as Christmas gifts.
  13. Online returns are items bought on Target.com that people decide they don't want and they return it to a Target store instead of shipping it back. I got the clearance deals list as updated as it is going to get for tonight. I thought I would be able to find more deals to list but it is mostly the same school supplies and sporting goods items that we have known about for several days. Now, I have got to get some sleep.
  14. I will be updating and maybe playing with the formatting on the clearance deals site (http://aacwks.50webs.com/) throughout the night between checking out the deals at ThingFling. They are doing Wacky Wednesday third edition. It is like a woot off but better. They are starting a little before midnight (central) and going all day tomorrow. I have been working so much that I haven't been keeping up with this thread, so I have several pages of deals to catch up on. kbrady2 probably has a lot of the deals listed on the site already but there are probably a few more I will be able to add from various places.
  15. Closest I have are: 082-04-0014 InStep Quick ‘n EZ Bike Trailer 082-04-0019 Schwinn Bicycle Trailer - Also converts to stroller. You may try changing the last 2 numbers and seeing if you can come up with the item you want on the inventory locater.
