  1. This will be the first year my DD (now 11) is coming with me. She begged me last year, but back then she still suffered from severe bouts of "Whine and Complaint-Syndrom"

She is so excited, last week she dreamt of BF :yup:. She told me were standing in a line and is was a really good dream. (I just hope she won't be having nightmares after her 1st BF ;) )

  2. I think I prefer LCD, but the price is good IMHO.

    Four-day Super Sale in Baby

On Black Friday and throughout the Thanksgiving weekend (November 23-26), find low prices on Baby products--featuring 30% off select Britax items.

  5. does the forum have a main database for all our emails when we registered? Is it possible to do a mass email w/ ad items? (thats for any store that threatens the site?) That way we still know the items, but its not posted. lol. There is always a loop hole in anything if you look/try hard enough :)

I like this idea. Here something I found on copyright laws:

They e-mailed me a copy, so I can post it."

To have a copy is not to have the copyright. All the E-mail you write is copyrighted. However, E-mail is not, unless previously agreed, secret. So you can certainly report on what E-mail you are sent, and reveal what it says. You can even quote parts of it to demonstrate. Frankly, somebody who sues over an ordinary message would almost surely get no damages, because the message has no commercial value, but if you want to stay strictly in the law, you should ask first. On the other hand, don't go nuts if somebody posts E-mail you sent them. If it was an ordinary non-secret personal letter of minimal commercial value with no copyright notice (like 99.9% of all E-mail), you probably won't get any damages if you sue them. Note as well that, the law aside, keeping private correspondence private is a courtesy one should usually honour.

(source: http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html) Pretty cool site explaining the basics.

So, if were to get an email listing certain items on sale at store, i.e. Wallyworld (no I am not using W*lm**t, just in case, because i dont want to get hit with a lawsuit), i could sent it to everybody in my contact list and quote the contents?!

HMMM, of course copyrighted pictures are another thing. I always thought that a product image belongs to the company who produces the product. So if walmart uses actually product images in their ads, they must have some copyright agreement with the manufacturer. How does that preclude gottadeal from using a product image? Do "every and all mentioning and pictures (i.e. the words and logos)" of walmart have to be blacked out of the ad scan???

Would that still infringe on their so-called copyright??

(maybe we could have a renaming contest.....I suggest "the unmentionable"..:D

  6. I just called this # and was told that they could not comment on this matter except that Walmart is taking legal action against websites using their name. Anyway, she took my name and # and said she would pass it on. In other words, got no where :(

I just spoke to Susan @ Sarah's office. She was very nice, just wanted to know my first name and state I am calling from. (I had no problem giving that out.) I told her if Walmart takes any kind of legal action, I would be forced to boycott them this holiday season and beyond. Also, that I would email everybody on my personal and business contact list (business is legal. LOL), asking them to do the same.

I told her that gottadeal saved me a lot of money over the years and a lot of the money I did spent (including things I spontaneous purchases in Walmarts on BF, just because the deal was good and I had the ad in advance) went into walmarts coffers. Apparently, whoever in legal came up with the idea to sent out the letter must not shop on BF. Otherwise they would realize that they can only gain customers by leaked ads or speculative postings on websites.

Furthermore, I mentioned the possibility that a lot of people might boycott walmart if the go through with legal action, and IMHO this was not a very marketing friendly decision on their side.

She wanted to know if I have Brads phone no. :g_laughin

I told that they can reach him through the "contact us" on the site.

And at the end, just like with all the other posters that phoned, she told me she would pass on my message to their legal department. And....of course I should keep my eye on the secret sales....LOL. Told her I could not do that, because I rely on gottadeal to get sales info for me, but if they are not even allowed to mention walmart, etc. their deals must be at least 90% off or a "really good" price mistake for me to take advantage of it.

(BTW: She admitted to being a BF shopper)

  8. I was at my local (zip 11530) LnT yesterday. Gave a bunch of 20% coupons to a lady in line behind me. Cashier told her she could not use the coupon on the Dustbuster, because it came with a $20 rebate. I wonder if they changed their policy or the cashier was just wrong.

And just to show that being nice sometimes does pay off: I also gave a woman in front of me 7 20% coupons. (Have not done very much shopping and even after being nice I still have 10 left. :) . She bought some very expensive sheets and comforter. After she payed, she handed me her card, (rep for cosmetic, beauty and bath supplies for beauty parlors, etc.) and told me to give her a call if I ever need something. Also gave a coupon to a highschool kid. He was spending his xmas money on a lounge chair ($100). The look on his face was just precious.
