  1. They didn't offer any rainchecks last year, but it would be nice if they opened and hour earlier than WM. I am hoping that just because they are not having "doorbustsers", it doesn't mean they are not going to have great deals??
  2. If you live close to these factory outlets (click link) this might be useful:

I went to the Camarillo factory outlet here in Southern California, and they will be having a midnight sale at BF starting at 12:00 Friday.

The signs say that most of the stores will participate in this sale, but they gave no other details. I tried to ask around the stores but all the employees are tight lipped, I think they must have signed some kind of confidentiality agreement.

This is interesting because they have a Sony outlet store there, and if they have their laptops on sale it would be great for me because I prefer Sony.

Wish there was one in Kentucky...that sounds amazing. Thanks Dude!

  3. On Friday I ordered

    1 Super Mario Sunshine $19.99 1 $19.99

1 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind $19.99 1 $19.99

    1 Game Boy Player $46.99 1 $46.99

    1 Game Cube Mario Party 7 Bundl $99.99 1 $99.99

    Item Subtotal: $186.96

    Shipping & Handling: $7.46

    Toysrus.com Savings $-9.98

    Sales Tax: $11.06

    Total: $195.50

This will be a gift for all 3 of my children, The gameboy player (costing 46.99) will actually save me a fortune. They all 3 have Gameboy SP and 100+ GB games. The gameboy player allows you to play your gameboy games on the gamecube! How awesome is that?!?!

  4. I am sure there are several angles on why retailers offer so many GREAT deals on BF, but one of them is if they pull you in for a $5 Care Bear then you will do the rest of your Christmas shopping there to.

It's only a scam if you buy something you don't want or they trick you into buying something that is misrepresented. I am sure you will find a lot of people that agree with me...I do not get scammed on BF, quite the opposite, I save a TON of MONEY $$$$$:g_laughin

  5. There is a thing called Marriage Mail that is delivered to post offices in bundles. Postal employees are suppiose to put these in the mail boxes. I have saw some just threw in the garbage.

Also, being a postal employee, we are starting to get in flyers for Black Friday; however, a note is atached that says do not put in mail boxes until November 21.

I will have to talk to Brad or someone about this later................;)

Faith...do tell us everything you know :angel1:
  6. I saw in Family Circle magazine a Barbie locket digital camera. It's adorable and I so wish they would have had them for my kids. It says it has but 2 buttons on it, holds 50 photos, comes with editing software and it's a webcam. From Disney Electronics $30 disneyelectronics.com

Wow! That's a great idea for DD5. She also has a birthday on January 1st, ao that might work out great!

  7.

Thanks for the info.....guess John, who's about to be manager of the SouthEast region of Wal-Mart's distribution networK (he's leaving this area after Christmas to move to Atlanta to take this job) just doesn't know what he's talking about. Glad to know I can always find out the truth on the internet......:g_whistle

Are you under the impression I was speaking of regional or even store managers? Your sarcasm leads me to believe I should clarify. I was a Toy Department Manager in 1999 at Walmart in Lexington, Ky. We did not get the ad until the week before, we did not get the opportunity to order the items off the list they came directly from the distrubution centers on pallets ready to hit the floor. Just my experience. Not saying it is that way in every market.

  8. Looks like a great deal! Its just carry case, AND 2 games!

"Take learning to the max! This awesome handheld game system connects directly to the television, allowing your child to play anywhere and learn everywhere. Includes two action-packed games that teach essential preschool through 4th-grade skills! And it comes with a Leapster carrying case. Handheld sold separately. "

  9. The managers may not have had copies of the actual ads, but they've had lists of the sale and blitz items for months........how else would they know what to order? Do people think the items just show up unannounced and unplanned for?

Just so you know...Department Managers get the lists about 1 week b4 BF. They don't get to order as many Blitz items as they want. They get an amount based on the stores sales. So you see there is no ordering of BF items all the items are shipped from some guy that sits in an office crunching numbers and rewarding WMs in the biggest markets.

  10. Well, you may need an antenna if the sat company doesn't carry your locals, but you should get an OTA (Over the Air) tuner built in with the HD receiver you get, so you won't need a separate tuner for OTA signals.

If your just talking SD (standard definition), something like 90% of the population can receive locals from either D* (DirecTV) or E* (Echostar - Dish Network). D* has just started offering HD locals in Detroit, and should carry the top 25 markets in early 2006, top 50 markets in HD by end of 2006. :)

We have since switched TVs and sat companies so we are good now. There seems to be a new type of tv every time I turn around:eyepoppin

    Thanks JB King!
