I've had a Garman Nuvi 350 for the past 4-5 months and its an incredible unit. I paid close to $800 at the time but I think you can get it for $499 either at BB or CC. I've taken this thing up and down the east coast so far and never ran into any problems. My suggestion is to go for the Nuvi 350. It won't dissapoint you.
