I just saw a high-resolution scan, and the HP is definitely 512mb of RAM. (Rules say I can't post a link.) There's another HP with 2048mb, but I don't think it's a doorbuster. I don't know where the 1024mb rumor came from. This news is very disappointing. I probably won't bother getting there so early now. It seemed like a much better deal with 1024mb. I just need a laptop for word processing and web surfing, but I'd like to have enough RAM to never worry about it again. Plus, I might want to upgrade to Vista one day and don't want to be running the bare minimum.

So what about this scenario: My friend and I plan to try BF at Best Buy this year. He wants the LCD monitor, and I want the laptop. If we show up at 10pm, we will have to go to the bathroom at some point. We were thinking that one person could leave, use the bathroom, and pick up a late night dinner from Taco Bell. Then the other would leave later to use the bathroom and get more coffee. Does that seem unfair to anyone? If so, are we supposed to sit there and not move out of line for 8 hours?

Where are you getting 1024mb of RAM? Is that from the Ad? Both links indicate it's 512mb upgradeable.
