  1. I'm wondering the same thing about the Legos. My son wants them and if the deals are worth it, this will be my first year going to TRU first.

Brad...is the scan clear enough to see the item numbers? If not, any idea when there will be a scan put online?

Can't believe there isn't an ad somewhere already.

  2. I'm a manager at the LLBean outlet and the entire store on Friday from 6-10AM will be 30% off, this includes kayaks, and the rest of the weekend 20% off. There is a possibility that all day Friday the store will be 30% off. We are still waiting for some definite answers.

Do you happen to know what the retail stores are doing? There isn't an outlet store nearby...

  3. im waiting patiently too..as i need to know exactly what dvds are for what price...picturewise i guess...to pricematch at walmart...i was scopping out a couple walmarts today to see who had the most inventory of certain items...so im hopeing someone comes thru...:D

I'm waiting on the specific Lego sets. Plus I'm wondering which ones will be available at TRU.com and when...

  4. Anybody know if there will be any in-store specials for L.L. Bean on Black Friday? Or are there any online specials to know about? My stepdad is really picky and has lots of items picked out for Christmas from LL Bean. I'm lucky enough to have an actual store near me (and so does he, actually) and I'd like to plan my attack - whether it's online, or if I should fight the crowds for a worthy deal! With enough caffeine I'm up for a fight!

I know that right now if you purchase online, you earn a $10 gift card for a $50 purchase. Last year they had that same promo, in stores and online.

    Thanks for your help!

Looking for the same info. We need some stuff from LLB for our kids and family members.

  5. Ahhh, that Netbook seemed like a good deal. ($129)

I voted and the only one I didn't get right was the night vision goggles. I voted for the family PS3 thinking that most people would choose it even though I'd rather have the Action (James Bond) one. As for the deals, I'd buy any offered. We don't have any of the items currently in first place.

  6. If you are referring to the ad scan, it's not uploaded yet - we're still waiting for Walmart to send over the clear copy. I just pre-loaded the link on that page.

If you are referring to the listing, I'm not seeing the error.

Got it, I was looking for the scan. I'll just use the listing and check back later for the cleared up version. Thanks

  7. Oh that was so mean to put Wal-mart under the ad-scans! I saw it there and go so excited! Clicked on it and...nothing! How am I supposed to wait until Monday?! :eyepoppin

    Same here...

  8. I'm wondering about the Lego prices. Online you can get several of the sets at a bit of a discount. Some are not discounted at all. Does the ad show the sets that are discounted? If so, can you tell which ones? Also, is the discount UP TO the percent or is it the ACTUAL 40% or 50% off?
  9. Doesn't look like many of the items are actually on sale. I looked up Hemnes 6-drawer chest on their site...same price as the ad. Looks like only a couple good deals and the rest have normal prices. Hate the store anyway...can't just walk in and out. Gotta go thru the mouse maze first.
  10. ...There is no way if the sale started sunday they knew about it saturday to call, and to specify a specific amount. They knew someone on the inside.

Just posting to say that while the folks buying the tvs may have been friends/family. They could easily have gotten the info on the sale beforehand...sites like the one you are using right now would be an example. Plus, our paper gets delivered with the Sunday ads included with our Saturday morning paper. I'd know by 7am Saturday that I could get the tv at KM and for what price.

  11. :eek:So after reading this should I buy the PSP or DS for my 11 year old boy... He's not real concerned with the movie part of it..... HELP

It would depend on what types of games he likes to play. The DS has a lot of games. The PSP tends to have games with higher quality graphics. Of course there will be games that play on both. The PSP has greater abilities than the CURRENT DS. I bold that because there is a new version called the DSi coming early next year that will have some more capabilities and improvements.

I own a PSP and my 3 kids each have a DS. My son likes to play both but my PSP has the "cooler" games. As with most Nintendo vs Sony matchups, the Nintendo brand is usually more kid/family friendly and focuses on number of games while Sony is more for gamers and has better quality graphics.

    Hope this helps.

  12. There is a VERY nice selection of DVDs that I think I will get some online since we don't have a CC within an hour of us.

Has any or does anyone know if I shop online on BF will the stuff still be there around noon? That's about the time I'll probably be back from shopping. Will it state when the deals start online?

I shopped online from them last year. IT SUCKED. The site was crapping out and stuck forever...it was most likely being bombarded by folks like me. Finally got to purchase an xbox360 bundle for pick in store. I did on BF which was a NIGHTMARE. It took me over an hour to pick something I had already paid for since I had to stand in a huge line...and this was hours after the initial opening crush...

With that, I will most likely try to online shop them again. If I have the difficulty like last year, I'll bag it. If not, I'll just pick up later.

  13. Same time as last year...8 or 9...or whenever. The ad SUCKED and since I don't need a tv or computer, I'll stroll in at my leisure to pick up whatever cheap cds/dvd/games are left. Any BB shopping I do will be online. Underwhelmed with their ad (and most others as well) for the second year in a row.
  14. Brad;

Thanks for the info and posts. Looks like my hopes will be for other stores. Last year I hit BB and CC after 8am. Walked in and out with the dvds and games I wanted since that was all I needed and their deals were lackluster. Looking like more of the same if not worse this year.

  15. One word comes to mind for me...underwhelmed. I was thinking the stores would have some killer deals or special offerings (loss leaders) to bring in people. Not so much with Walgreen's ad. Oh well, hopefully the others will do better.
  16. According to this site, http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/151827/nintendos_dsi_probably_hitting_us_in_2009_says_iwata.html

the new DSi will be a late 2009 release.

As for the question, I'd also go with the DS for a younger child. I own a PSP & prefer it to DS. There are actually a lot of games. However, there are more for the DS and specifically more kid friendly ones at that. ***my opinion is the PSP was designed more for gamers not family friendly as was the PS3. Nintendo on the other had tends to trend more (and brilliantly so) to the entire family.

  17. I entered for the DC area. Hopefully I'm not more than 40 miles from their "designated store". This is the ONLY way I'd ever be able to get the doorbusters. I'm usually in line at 3 am which as you can guess puts me a ways from the door.

Good luck to all. Hope to read of someone here getting Best Buys "golden ticket".
