Gift Boxes
in 2009
I have always found these at Wal Mart. -
Good God I would never walk into Toys R Us. 2 years ago we were at Jcpenny's and Toys r us is right across the street the line and all the people looked like an angry mob out of one of those pictures where the mob has pitch forks and torches... LOLZ :eyepoppin
I did that ONCE, never again. Luckily kids are all grown now so I don't have to worry about the toy store.
-
I usually put mine up the weekend before Thanksgiving and then light it on Thanksgiving nite.
-
I also think she is talking about amex/MC/Visa cards. Check with your bank and see if they charge a fee for those. I know my bank does not charge a fee if you have an account with them.
-
Mine was in plastic with a bill for $6.99 I think. I will probably subscribe, I do enjoy it.
-
They also had the Christmas trees in the pots marked down to $26.00. Not sure what the regular price was I just saw them moving them to the front of the store. Seems like someone on Gottadeal was looking for those, but darn if I can remember who.

I hit the outlet store in Lodi Ohio tonite hoping to find some of the gylcerin soaps there yet. No luck they didn't have any either. I did find the soft socks for $1.99 though, so I've officially started my 09 Christmas shopping.

Lorain County Ohio-Very very windy with windchills of -10 degress. Luckily we did not get the 1" of snow they were calling for. An inch of snow is not alot but with these winds we would have visability problems. Step daughter is flying in from Texas today hopefully no issues!

Our Hallmark at the Midway Mall in Elyria Ohio is closing January 24th. This sign just went up within the past week:( Just another sign of the times! Hopefully some good deals though.

This also brings me to my next point. For my friend that Im helping try to find his son a computer for college, the one I recommended the Staples computer to above, the Circuit City one is great if you dont mind sacrificing the 250GB HD and getting the 160GB one. Of course you wouldnt get the free printer either than. So yea, Id say for you, being that you said you needed a printer...and really wanted the 250GB....the staples one is still for you.
Hey thanks for all of your help. I did get the one at Staples and my son is in the process of setting it all up now. I did purchase the 2007 office and ended up getting it for $59.00. I didn't think that was a bad deal at all. It had some rebates with it, plus and extra $20.00 off with the purchase of a computer. We got there ten minutes before they opened and they sold three of them right away and one lady bought the $499 computer they had. That 10 minutes of waiting time sure was much better than the 4-5 hours I wasted at Wal Mart on Black Friday for a computer they didn't even have.
I couldn't of found this without your help so thank you very much:)

Hey thanks for the Staples lead. I did not get that ad today. I think I will wake my son and we will go check it out. We are going to need a printer also, so all in all not too bad of a deal!
I will let you know how we make out.
-
I guess I am torn between the 160 and the 250. I don't exactly know what he will need college wise. I guess I figure that more is better:) But that drains the battery life correct? I do not have an Office Depot around me though.
-
Drat, I missed Lebron, my son would of loved that one.

I felt so frustrated for you that I looked into matters myself. Unfortunately on the ad it said "Available at most stores." So right there, that cuts removes any responsibility off of them.
That being said, I looked into things for you and wanted to give you some good news. For starters, after looking at the specifications of the one you were looking to get, I think this computer at the price it was offered at was just an average deal. I think you will easily be able to get one similiar to that at a similiar deal, if not, for even $50 cheaper. In fact I think you could settle for something that has 3gbs of Ram and a 160hd. I mean if what you said about him not being into gaming is true, then I dont think he needs that extra stuff. And even if he loves music, he still doesnt need anything more than a 160GB hd because that right there could only over 35,000 songs. No one has that many songs! Plus with a smaller hard drive youll get more battery life out of the computer. Also if your willing to settle for a 14.1 inch screen, not only might you be able to save more money....but it will be cheaper, more lighter/portable (great for a college student), and more battery efficent. Average 15.4 inch screen gets 2 hrs of battery life per charge. A 14.1 inch gets 3hrs on average. Just something to keep in mind as well. And finally another reason you might want to be happy about in terms of not getting the Toshiba is that it came with a 64-bit Vista operating system. Ive heard a lot of people complaining about this newer operation system when it comes to installing programs on it.
So yea, all in all, dont worry about this insignificant loss. Something better will come up trust me. In fact my computer will be coming in on Friday December 5th. From there I will have 14 days to return if for some reason I dont like it. I am going to use that time to look at ever ad for the next 3 weeks all the way up until December 19th to see if there ends up being an even better deal for me even though I dont think there will be. That being noted, I promise to keep an eye out for deals for you as well. If youd like to make it a point to tell me anything important like...MY COMPUTER HAS TO HAVE THIS....I DONT NEED THIS...etc then Ill take that into concern. Ads come out ever Sunday, so Ill give you a heads on what I think is good for the next 3 weekends over each one of those weekends. I hope this will help, and Im sure we can get your son something good that is affordable. And heres the cool thing...once we get him something...you will have 14 days just like me to look around in case something better comes along before you cant return it....so together we will keep an eye out on ads for the next two weeks that follow And if you see anything that catches your eye that I might not pick up on in the next three weeks, shoot me a post and Ill tell you what I think of it
Thank you very much for the awsome advise. If you see anything appropriate, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know. We have a brick and mortar, Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, Wal Mart and Target with a 1/2 hour away. He does store music on his computer, uses the internet, will need office 07 (I don't know that any computer comes pre-loaded with that anymore) He does watch movies online from Netflix. Wireless capablity. I didn't even think about the weight, that was a really good point. The lighter the beter to haul across campus. He will need ample storage and speed.
I was not happy with Wal Mart. In fact, I sent them an e-mail today. I have not yet heard anything back from them yet. Luckily our Wal Mart is a 24 hour store, so I did not have to stand outside. I had called the store on Thursday to see how many they had and ofcourse, they don't know how many of what they received. Maybe I am niave, I would of thought they would of received at least a few of them and being third in line I thought it was a sure thing. The two people in front of me wanted the X-boxes. I did go back later in the day just to make sure maybe they missed putting them out.
Once again, thanks for the wonderful advise and if you see any amazing deals, let me know in case I miss them. You did give me some guidelines as to what to look for!:)

My son recently received some money and decided that he wanted to purchase the Toshibia laptop Wal Mart on Friday. It seemed like a decent deal for the memory and etc that you were receiving. Similar machines had excellent ratings out there. STood in line from 1:30 a.m. and were like 3rd in line and guess what, this Wal Mart did not receive any of those machines. They had plenty of the HP's. Was this as good of a deal as it seemed? (I am kind of computer illerate) Maybe something good will be in the ads tomorrow. He will basically be using it for college use does not do much computer gaming. He has around $500.00 to spend give or take a little bit.

Now what? :(

We were missing the Home Depot ad. -
Thank you! I placed my order bright and early before they all sold out again!
-
Our Wal Mart was open. I did not go on Thanksgiving, (spent the day with family). However,I was inside the warm store at 3:00 a.m. in order to get what I wanted. Home and on the road for a weekend trip to Kenosha WI by 6:00 a.m.!
-
I can't speak for BB, but Wal Mart allows campers and motor homes to camp in their parking lots. (I believe Cracker Barrels do also) I have seen this many places.
-
Paid Holiday here. I wish Christmas Eve was one also.
-
I wish I had known, my Wal Mart had oodles of thm that I could of mailed out.
-
Can you get some checks from your bank to hold you over until you receive your shipment? Like the starter checks they give you when you open an account?
-
Have you checked the scout shop in Ashland? I know they carry some scrap book stuff, I am not sure about the die cuts though.

wonder which ones in ohio
I heard on the news today the ones to close in Ohio are in the western part of the state. Lima was one of the stores, and I think maybe Findlay was the other one.(not totally positve about Findlay though)
Anyone been to Bronner's?

We go there every year. We were actually there 2 weeks ago. Love it. Downtown Frankenmuth has lots of nice little shops. Ofcourse, there is Zehnder's chicken dinners also. I joined their birthday club a few years ago. Basically on my receipt every year is a coupon for $10.00 off $50.00 at Bronners. I do not know if everyone gets that or if it is hooked to the birthday club. I know the free ornament is hooked to your birthday club.
We tend to hit just a few stores in River's Place. Basically the Tervis store, the Yankee Candle store and the Sugar High Bakery. The owner of the bakery was one of the winners of Cupcake Wars on The Food Network.
Birch Run is an awesome outlet mall. Definitely make some time for that also. It is just a few miles down the road. If you should happen to stop at Tony's to eat, be careful of ordering anything with bacon. You basically get a pound of bacon with it! This place was featured on Diners, Drive Inn and Dives or one of those shows like that.
Enjoy your trip. We might try to get back up there before Christmas this year.
