  1. We pulled the trigger on the $199 32" Westinghouse TVs from BestBuy yesterday for our kids' bedrooms. Great price for a decent bedroom TV - 1080P, plenty big for that small a space, and a decent number of inputs. Figure if anything cheaper happens to come along, we can always return them. The sad thing is that those TVs were really all we were planning on going out on Black Friday for - now we need to find a reason to stay up all night!
  2. If I wanted to drive down to Chicago (7 hrs), I could've got them(2) for $399, but I think I'd spend $100 on gas and extras.....and i'd have some fun too while I'm in the windy city. That's not cheap. : )

I should've had them upgrade the RAM while I was there for $50 each notebook, I thought I'd take it home and see if the kids really needed it for their stuff or not. They need it. It's always at 80-90% used. Now I'd have to pay the geek squad $60 each to install. No way.

How difficult is it to put extra 256 cards in? Is it just in the back or do I have to open up the computer? Should I pay a pro to do it or can I?

It's quite easy to swap out the RAM modules. There's a cover on the bottom (underside) of the case that you unscrew, pop out any of the modules you don't want in there, and swap in the new RAM modules.

Most laptop manuals have step by step directions on how to do it. I imagine this one will as well.

    A 10-minute job.

  3. Just got a $50 PM on this laptop. My local store had it for $449, but a store about 45 minutes away was advertising it for the $399 price. Manager said no problem, only took about 2 minutes.

Found a good deal to upgrade the RAM on this to 1 GB as well:

Went with the two 512MB modules to take advantage of the dual-channel benefits of DDR2 RAM.

For under $500, this is an absolute steal.

  4. I bought my wife the Mini last year, and we love it. With the Nano now out, you should be able to get a decent deal on the Mini.

Or, if you don't mind the size of the regular one, you can get 2nd or 3rd generation iPods for real good prices.

  5. Any chance of getting some higher resolution scans of the non-doorbuster Wal-Mart items?

If not, maybe someone could clarify the following item for me:

LeapFrog Leapster Learning System w/ Leapster Software (3) - $89.88

Looking at the ad, it appears that you get the Leapster, and the following 3 games - Dora, SpongeBob, and SpiderMan - all for the $89.88? Is this true?

Also, is it the regular Leapster, or the L-Max?

    Thanks in advance.

    - Jeff
