yeah the wal-mart ad is bad, but the target ad isnt all that hot either.

my local wal-mart supercenter brings the bf merchandise out to the floor around 4:30 and keeps an associate by it until 5 then they remove the black wrapping from the merchandise. As for the sale price it depends on the merchandise some of the items wont scan at the bf sale price until 5 am and home office has put it in the registers.

must all depend on your store and how it is ran, my wal-mart always has all lanes open BF day.

Last year the wal-mart by me did hand out tickets for the higher end items that they hand limits on. The direction to hand out the tickets was a decision made by the asst. mgr and the store manager. Before the opening of the store they announced how many of the big ticket items they had such as the computers, then handed out tickets for those items, that way the customers in line new ahead of time. They also handed out maps of where the black friday items were located in the store. I think it just depends how well your local wal-mart store is ran by their management team.
