  1. My 11 DS is asking for a video game chair for Christmas. Does anyone have any idea which chair is the best -- and where I should shop? I was also thinking about beanbag chairs. I don't think that he wants a chair that has speakers, electronics etc -- so I think a beanbag may be more comfortable... please help!! 11year boys are super tought to buy for -- just getting out of the toy age:eek:
  2. I've been trying to be good and limit my shopping -- so tell me if I'm behind the time or now.. but I was at TJ Maxx yesterday and in the area right by shoes that has makeup, perfume, sunglasses, etc -- they had VERA BRADLEY stuff. Nothing big -- it looked like just the small stuff like makeup cases, curling cases, wallets -- and it was the last set of retired colors. I was looking for anything like that so I didn't even bother to look at the price. UGH!! I'm losing my shopping touch -- anyway -- I just to spread the work and see if anyone else has seen anything like this??
  3. Ok -- I was at Dillards yesterday. THere are 40% off signs everywhere --- but don't let the signs fool you -- they are not necessarily for the items that are hanging on the rack the sign is on. The lady in the formal dress area told me that if the item was regular price, then it would be 40% -- nothing on clearance was an extra 40%. Then, I went down to Jrs. and the shirt that my friend picked out that was NOT on sale - didn't ring up and extra 40% off -- we were so confused -- so I think that it was only certain brands or products. I do know that they announced that all athletic shoes where 40% off when were were in the store -- hope this helps a little bit...
  4. I know alot of the teachers in my son's pod are doing weight watchers -- I know that everyone enjoys sweets/treats but you may want to offer some fruit choices as well.

Idea #2 -- Starbuck used to have a large container with a spot that you could get a 'to-go' order. This would be a nice change to the standard coffee in the morning. Or -- you could get some speciality coffees and brew these at school -- it will also make the area smell good.

Idea #3 -- maybe have Panera cater lunch one afternoon and get the teacher's to place their order ahead of time so that they can choose what they like..

  5. Thank you so so much. I thought it was just me -- I search high and low -- I thought you could find a coupon for everywhere on the internet but I guess some store just don't offer codes all of the time. Anyway the item that my husband want to purchase was actually on sales $40 off today (online) so he went to the store to purchase and it wasn't on sale. He told them that online it was $159 he would just buy it there. The store said fine but by the time he paid shipping it would probably be the same price. I tried to check their website for price match info but couldn't find any. Does anyone have any input here? Should I call the corp office ? Thanks, Dena
  6. I think alot of the Target baby clearance ended up at Big Lots... try there -- I know that had mattresses for $60. I've been watching as my niece is due in May.

Do you have any kid's consignment stores in your area like ''Once Upon a Child"?

Craigslist is probably the best place for your money though....

  7. This is second hand information but it seemed creditable (from a girl that I work with that purchased stuff) so I thought I would share. I will check this out tomorrow and let everyone know how it went.

My friend @ work went to Macy's last night and was able to purchase 2 big name brand boots (the high ones) for $80 total. She said that all of the shoes were bogo... we're in the Cincinnati OH area if this is a YMMV thing....

If anyone else has details... please chime in.... thx

  8. I stopped at Big Lots today to pick up some cleaning supplies and cruised through the baby section to shop for my niece (who is due in May). I noticed a tons of the Target baby items that have been clearanced. I guess the stuff in my area never will go 75% off -- it will go to Big Lots on the salvage truck. There was an Eddie Bauer stroller travel system for $130 -- I think this was actually $229 at Target but I'm not sure -- I just checked their website and could not find it. I also saw lots of the onsies sets. Prices were good but not the 75% price like a was hoping for ....
  9. 90% at 2 stores in Cincinnati, OH this morning -- pretty much stuff left a few hours ago but it was being bought by the cart full. I had about 1 1/2 carts of ornaments, trees, tree skirts, candy etc and it was only $30!!!! I think my favorite score was the large buckets of ornaments that were 18.88 -- and they were only 1.89 -- I almost bought these at full price -- super glad I waited!!
  10. Target does have on sale but they don't have daily pages (bummer) -- I guess I will have to spend the $40 and just call it a day. THe one that I just can't hardly do is to pay full price for something. Maybe I can justify by telling myself I've saved tons of money on other things --- I'm 1 week into the new year and I'm starting to lose my mind not writing everything in the planner... thanks for all of the helppp

It was a very 'electronic' Christmas this year.
