  1. Years ago - when my mother in law was still alive - DH entire family would get together - all 11 siblings, signifigant others and associated rug rats (prior to her passing, the largest total was 47)

She would have a tree in the main part of the house all decorated - and I do mean decorated. Then, when all the grandkids were there - she would lead them all down the stairs to the kids playroom and show them a bare naked tree and tell them that it was their tree to decorate - the only rules were no pushing, shoving, name calling, hair pulling, tripping, spitting or pulling down the tree. After the tree was decorated, the adults would bring all the kiddies together and then Santa arrived (brother in law in disguise) with a bag and half full of presents (of course - it was all from the brothers and sisters) and distribute them.

After that, while the kids were enjoying themselves, the adults would retire back upstairs for gift opening, food and beverage. At midnight, mother in law kicked everyone out so that she and father in law could clean up and prepare for dinner the next day with the younger sibs.

  3. I just got an email from Linens and Things offering a $50.00 gift card if you purchase one of the Dyson Vacs for 399.00 or 499.00. In addition to this, there is a 20% off any one item coupon attached also.

i remember that there was someone in the market for a vac and was going to wait for this special to come around again.;)

  4. I am a Meile girl myself. Again, pricey, but I have had mine for 14 years now and with regular maintenance, it will last me some more. I bought it as a floor model from the local vac store for $250.00 They have better models and of course if it is not the floor model, they are going to be more anyway. Consumer Reports gave it great ratings back then. Have not had to look for another one, so have not checked.
  5. After reading a bit more carefully, this may be just to the 2% cash back thing you get, not tripling the advertised ecb. Oh well

  6. Just got an email from CVS offering Triple Extra Care Bucks trhough 3/8/07 on line and through 3/15/07 in store.

Now, question, are these on all ECB offers or just on some. It does have some exclusions, such as ciggies, alcohol and scripts, but will this triple everything else? There are a few items in the flyer this week that would be great if the ECB were tripled, like the Dove facial thing. What does anyone think?

  7. thanks for the coupon!! I didn't even know they sent out emails with coupons so I'm off to the website and the store!

I love the Maua Lai juices too. I bought about 6, but was thinking I should go back for more :) I just drink them plain. What do you use them as mixers in?

Hubby mixes it with vodka, sometimes rum, kids use it to make slushies with snow.

Wish I could find more. Must go look for another big lots around me in NH

  8. I hear that. Wednesday when I went, I bought a beautiful wool jacket for my sons 16th bday, a nice black lockable tote box and 22 bottles of Maua Lai Island Guava juice that has been discontinued (DH favorite mixer!!!) for 1.50 each (regular 3.99 in stores), so - I could have saved an additional 20.00, but, guess it is time to shop again, lol:) :) :)
  9. I got an email from Big Lots today offering a printable 20% off entire purchase coupon good through February 3, 2007. There does not appear to be any specific number, only a bar code and 999999 under it. It does say limit 1 coupon per family and the usualy blah, blah. If anyone wants, I think that I can send the link to you. If I am in error, please let me know.

It does say on the bottom:

Cashiers: to apply discount, scan all items, press employee discount key and use barcode or # as employee number.

  10. I agree with the John Sanford and James Patterson.

I love the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly. So does my father and brother. Both big Grisham readers.

DAMN - I forgot about that one. It is amazing that those books have been around for better than 20 years. Harry gets better each time, but I still think that he is a 30 something detective

  11. Try the sporting goods department at Walmart. They have the guns, accessories and targets that catch the ever multiplying pellets.

Also - keep in mind how they are powered. Batteries, green gas etc. The green gas is expensive around here at $13.99 per can. Doesn't last long with the little darlings.

The wonders of "toys" is not just getting an inexpensive one, but one that does not require expenisve maintenance items

  12. My local Strawberries/FYE store had Maxell batteries on BF- AA -48 pack for $14.99 witha $15.00 rebate and AAA - 12 packs for $4.99 with a $5.00 rebate. Makes it all free

The packages were still there this week for the same price REbates were vaild from 8/18/06-1/10/07. I submitted mine on 11/31 and got email notification that all rebates were received and in order, should have my checks soon.:)

  13. Oh boy, you hit me with this one.

John Sanford - all are great

    Tess Geristen (spelling)

James Patterson - all of them are fab - they have the same characters in each group of books - some of his books have been made into movies

Dean Koontz - a bit different

Nora Roberts writing as JD Robb - again same characters in each book - set in future times, but great reads

Janet Evanovich - all of the series are great although more on the "sexy" line good fast reads

Patricia Cornwall - supurb - same characters in the books

James Frey - have not gotton to all of the books but what I have read is good

    Mary Higgins Clark

Robert Parker - remember Spencer for Hire - the tv show? Well, he writes the books - again great reads

I hope this helps. PS - wonder how he likes the lst Grisham book. I have had it for 2 weeks or so but it is tough getting through. True story = too much blah, blah:yawn:

  15. Just got off phone with Plaistow, NH Walmart I have a friend who is an associate there: - they will be handing out tickets starting at 330 on Friday am for the 497 TV. They have --- get this --- 5 of them. In addition, they will be handing out maps of the store to show where in the perimeter - action alley- they will be stocking the secret 8.
