  1. As with each year, it seems like the cost of everything is going up, except our paychecks. There are some good apps on mobile out there that you can save money on. A lot of stores have Reward programs, too. So question is, how do you save on Black Friday and which is the most rewarding to you?

I personally like to stack up on coupons in the papers. Also, if you have a cell phone, there is an app called ''Shopkick,'' A mobile friendly device that lets you scan products for points in retail stores. Scan selected products on your phone, add up enough points, and you get yourself a beautiful reward of your choosing. (For example: if you shopped at Target, for 1,500 points you can obtain a $10 Gift card). All you do is bring your phone up to the register and they scan the barcode on your phone.

    Thoughts?

Every year I use my shopkicks on Black Friday.  As of today, between two phones I have $100 worth in gift cards.  Probably I will have another $50 worth in gift cards by Black Friday.

I also use rewards from Verizon Fios, I have $20 gift card in my hands already.  I am uploading codes in My Coke Rewards, getting close to a $10 gift card.  I use the Viggle app for points, I have enough for gift cards worth $30.  I use Shop Your Way from Sears/Kmart, already have $10 in points.  Red Card from Target for 5% off and Cartwheel app.

Stack up on coupons that are good past Black Friday.

  2. I am hoping to find a good sale on a tv this year.  I don't need a huge tv b/c its going on my screened in porch so I'm hoping to find something around 32in at Walmart.  I just hate to stand in that line.  The last time I bought a tv it was for a 20 some inch tv for my son and had to stand in line at Walmart for over 2 hours.  It sucked but luckily my mom was there and we would take turns shopping and bringing stuff back to our cart to buy.

Last year I got the Emerson 32" at Walmart for $115.00 that was like a week or two before Black Friday.  So far so good, I am very happy with the TV.  I went the night before the sale and bought it at the regular price, then I went next day for price adjustment.  No hassle, no lines, smooth transaction.

  3. I started my X-mas shopping already.  I took advantage of the Target toys clearance 70% off at the end of July.  The best deal was the Innotab Max by V-Tech, regular price $112.xxx at 70% was $33.xxx but the one that I got it was marked wrong and I ended paying only $7.70.  They honored the wrong price.

  4. I have mixed feelings.  I want Black Friday to be here already but I don't want summer to go away.

For the first time, I will be so excited to see Harbor Freight ad (usually is one of the first ones).  I got a store pretty close to me and my husband is already hooked on that store.  I have on my X-mas list some things that I want for my husband, but I want to wait to Black Friday to see if they have better deal.

  5. My best purchase was the 29" TV from Target that I got online FREE after the 5% Red Card and $75 gift cards from Shopkick (shopkick is free money in form of gift cards)

I also got the pre-black friday 40" TV from Walmart for $115.00.

  6. I got online:

    Target:

     29" TV - $79

    Mario Kart 7 - Nintendo 3DS

    2 Disney Infinity figurines

    Best Buy:

NBA 2K15 Xbox 360 video game

JCPenney I was there exactly at 5:00pm (I sneaked out before my guests were starting to show up for Thanksgiving dinner)

The free snowglobe and $10 coupon

    Waffler maker flip

  7. I got the 29" TV, the Mario Cart 7 for DS, and two Disney Infiniti figures.  I had three $25 gift cards from Shopkick plus Red Card 5% I paid only $40.

I had those items in my cart and was refreshing constantly until the price changed around 3:40am.  It was a smooth transaction for me.

  8. I just got off the phone with Toys "R" Us customer service and their managers are now saying it is for the Toys "R" Us credit card holders only not rewards members as they have been promoting.

That is not true.  I don't have the credit card I'm only a rewards member and I got the email with the code.  I haven't buy anything yet, but I put something in my cart and put the code and it worked.
