  1. I will say when the step-mom made the comment about DD, it took me a year to seak to them again. The only reason I tolerate anything is because it is DH's Dad. My kids are our world and they know that their grandparents are unkind people. We do not speak about them in front of the kids, they just know because of how they have been treated. Our kids are VERY luckythat they come from such a loved family otherwsie (both sides). We will never change them. They are who they are. :-(
  2.

    I absolutely agree!

I was getting so pissed off, because I was seeing parents scolding and yelling at their kids who couldn't be more than 3 years old--for the love of God, it's friggin 2 o'clock in the morning--GO HOME AND PUT THEM TO BED...THAT'S why their whining!! Ridiculous...

    Amen!!!! I sooooo agree!

  3. I love the idea of supplies for my sons car. He was just given my grandmother's car and this could be really cool. I'm thinking some Armour All wipes would be apreciated. We always do a giftcard for itunes for DS but this year I think we will do it for DD too. The brain teasers could be fun for both. I always seem to have a hard time with doing them without costing me a million dollars!
  4. We were watching our home movies the other day and i didnt realize almost every year the kids got chapstick.lol. We were all laughing because they were like thanks mom/dad. Not excited like the Target commercial with the school supplies. So this year no Chapstick or maybe I just will to get a laugh.LOL

I think you have to get the chapstick! ;-) Christmas morning just wouldn't be the same!!

  5. I am trying to come up with some ideas for my kids stockings. Every year it seems to get harder for me. Our son is into sports, loves to eat, and is pretty easy going. Our 11 yo daughter is hard. She isn't into little girl things anymore( except American Girl dolls) and I don't know what to do. Stockings always seem so expensive to do. I miss the days I could go to The Dollar Tree and load up lol! Any ideas would be great! I already have Hollister spray and beef jerky for our son and nothing for our daughter yet.
  6. Hubby and I first set out to Walmart. We have 2 within a 15 minute drive. We chose the one we always go to first. I have to say it is the nicest Walmart that I have ever seen. It reminds me of Target. We have brought lots of out of towners there and they all comment they can't believe it's a Walmart... Back on track lol... We arrived by 8 and went inside. It was awesome inside. It was SOOOOOO organized! As you walked in, they handed you a map. We were there for video games and movies. (10 pm sale items) They had organized lines for everything. We waited in the line no more than 15 minutes to get into lawn and garden( this is where some electronics were) you stayed in a line and were not allowed to pass. You waited your turn... It was perfect. You could not check out with this stufff until midnight but that was fine. About 9:15 I mentioned to hubby maybe we should head up front. People just started lining up so we did to. We were number 3 in line. 5 mins later the lines were horrible but there were no issues. This Walmart was wonderful...our other Walmart and other stores(including our Target which is where we headed to) there were fights and people were arrested or taken to the hospital.:(
  7. Starting at 10pm DEFINITELY contributed to having a different "mix" of shoppers but what's interesting is that it ALWAYS seems to be Wal Mart that has these problems. You rarely hear about these type of brawling chaos at Target or BB.

Funny you should mention that. At our Target, there was a fight in electronics. They had to send the police in from outside. Huge pool of blood. It was horrible. It is my opinion that we had more fights than normal because of the opening times. Many more people who never go out for BF or at least wait until later in the day were out in droves. It was HORRIBLE in my area! I have done BF for what seems like forever, but if the times remain as they were this year, I will be doing my shopping online. Shame on the people who ruin the experience.

  8. The only reason I spent less this year is because I started feeling ill and called it quits at 2am, though I did venture out later too. Sitting in line at Target was a quite pleasant experience... nice people to talk with and who helped each other out - especially when others tried to bum rush the line or move themselves farther up. Store security came out with maps and Luna bar samples and answered questions and even the city police made an appearance to make sure order was kept. Easy to tell that this store planned and prepared well.

Had to laugh about the Luna bar... I just ate mine for a snack a few minutes ago. Super yummy! :)

  9. The stories are terrible and there is no excuse for people to hurt anyone over saving a few bucks. That being said, why oh why do people continue to take babies and toddlers out with them to these sales. When will people finally stop doing that?

I agree. I saw soooooo many tiny babies out and it worried me. People can get so nasty and physical. In my town, there were several people arrested from different stores for fights breaking out. It was horrible. This is the first time in my area when this has happened. Personally I believe it was because you had people out that normally don't go out for BF but because of the new hours they were out in droves. It was horrible. To me, it's just not worth taking the risk. Just my opinion.

  10. Hollister & Abercrombie

Anyone know what these store are doing onlone? There's a pretty decent sale that ends today. I didn't know if I should go ahead and order. I received an email with what they were doing instore but not online.

I have been waiting for Hollister for what seems like forever too! I just saw on their Facebook page that they are 50% off until 9:00 am!!!!!! Sooooo excited! I almost went ahead to get the 30% off discount. Glad I waited!

  11. I don't know if it will be a better deal but I just got back from the mall with a great deal. I printed off a coupon for Aeropostale. Almost everything was on sale and then I had an additional 40% off coupon. I spent 160.00 and saved 349.62!!!! Hoping to do just as well at Hollister on BF!
  12. We were at Starbucks this morning and asked what time they will be open. Our store will be opening at 4 am. Will be heading there to have a coffee break and try to recharge before our mall opens up. Very excited!!!
  13. I have the nike+ sensor.

    1. Does your son have an iPod Nano, iPod touch or iPhone? These are the only apple products the sensor talks to.

1a. If he only has the Nano, make sure you get the Nano adapter!

    2. Yes, the sensor really does work. He may need to calibrate it first - I took my sensor first to a treadmill, and then when I got an iPhone, I calibrated it a second time on a track to make sure my distances were absolutely spot on. At first it was adding an extra 0.60 of a mile before calibration, after I'm maybe off by .03 of a mile.

    HOWEVER:

I do not have the Nike shoes (I don't like Nike running shoes, my personal preference.) My sensor is clipped to the front of my shoes on my laces, but it should work perfectly with the Nike+ shoes.

I would make it a separate gift! I really like it - it really helps me to track my runs, see my times (especially when I'm running on the streets), and my progress. The only drawback is that he always has to carry his iphone/ipod with him when he runs, unless you get the nike wristband. (http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikeplus/en_EMEA/sportband) I usually like to take my phone so I can listen to music while I run, but some people don't like having to hold things (I have a running fanny pack.)

You get cool graphs like this:

Santa is bringing him an iphone for Christmas so this will be perfect! He has an ipod, but it has started acting up. So this should be awesome! My husband had suggested we get him the armband for the phone. This is what he has used with his ipod and it has worked really well.

Your review of this and all of your info was fantastic. Do you mind if I ask you how long you have had yours for? I am really excited for him to have this!

    And again...

    Thank you for your info!

  14. My dear husband picked up new running sneakers today for our son for Christmas that he has wanted. They are the Nike sneakers that you can use the ipod sensor with. Our son LOVES to run and my husband thought this could be a cool addition. Any thoughts on this? Does the sensor really work? Would you stick it in the shoes or wrap it in a seperate gift?
  15. I kinda have a 50/50 opinion on this.Im not sure if more ppl will want the Xbox bundle with Kinects or just the Kinects.I just need the kinects but for $199 might get the bundle so my son doesnt have to bring his downstairs everytime my DD wants to play or when my DH and i wanna play. And even if they go fast i know someone will have the same deal again in store or online. Its not a new item.

What time do you think you will get in line? I am so torn about what time to go. I hate leaving to get in line on Thanksgiving night, but I really do want that bundle for the Kinect. I hear you about the 199.00 deal. Great offer. I plan to stick with doing just the Kinect because I have my budget for the day already figured out. I'm really good at just getting what is on my list. :)
