I think I'm all good on my electronics and household appliances this year, so my main BF hope will be to score a FitBit Ionic. It's a high-quality wellness tracker & smartwatch combo that retails for $299.
Are you looking for a smartwatch or fitness tracker too? Which one(s)? Have you heard any scuttlebutt about potential deals? Do you think there will even BE any deals on any of these devices this year? Share your wristware (or clip-on-ware ) hopes here!

Most interested in Staples, Old Navy and B&BW. I'd also very much like to get a peek at Sephora, Urban Decay, L'Occitane, Body Shop and Bumble & bumble, but I know they have narrower audiences.

Does anyone happen to know if JoAnn's black friday deals tend to be available online as well? Especially on the by-the-yard fabrics. I wasn't able to tell from the ad scan. Thanks!

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for the Samsung Slate 7 tablet PC!!! Lowest price I've seen so far is $999...hoping to see $700 or less.
-
The ON site has been down for over 30 minutes now...which sucks, since there's only a half hour left for the discounts.

I love this place! Great ideas, guys.
Well...except for maybe the Hot Wheels. DH grew out of those when he was ten.
My hubby still collects action figures and Hot Wheels, which is fine, because I collect Classic Tigger items and Breyer horses. We're children of the 70s and 80s, and still collect all the same stuff we had back then. Sigh. It's a sickness.

I can't remember what they did last year, but I hope that's the case this year. I'd dearly love to have the bulk of my purchases made before the pre-dawn hours of BF.
-
At this point, I've scoured all the ad scans, and am now highly anticipating going out and getting the paper copies on Wednesday to see the differences. Maybe there will be some laptop deals there.

For Wheeling, WV, and the Pittsburgh, PA, area, it's supposed to be cloudy and hi 38/lo 31 on TG day, then scattered rain showers and hi 43/lo 32 on BF. Yikes--so there's a possibility of standing in freezing rain to wait for the doors to open BF morning. Now I'm REALLY gunning for those online sales!

LOL...see how much I know about these!!! I had no idea it wasn't for PS3.We have it for the xbox.
Thank you all so much!
I will look around a little more for a bundle.

Another note, too--the Halo series only goes up to 3, which was released this year, so I'm sure this is the one he wants. I don't know how much you know about the game, but it is rated "M" for mature. Since you said he's 15, you might want to research the game a bit.

Selling tickets is just WRONG. Come on people, there are other people behind you that want some good deals too. One time I got a ticket for an LCD monitor and decided not to buy it. So I gave it to a family who was looking at the LCD monitors (they did not have any tickets) They were so happy because they wanted that specific monitor. I felt good afterwards!!!
I probably would have done the same thing you did. It never even occurred to me to sell my ticket until I saw this thread. However, the devil in me says: Who's to say this family didn't turn around after you left and sell that ticket to someone else?

Well, no one's started this annual thread yet, figured I'll go ahead and get it going.
Do you think it's ok for people to sell tickets for BF items? For example, say you're at Best Buy, get a ticket for the uber-cheap laptop, then sell it to someone in the back of the line for $50 (selling just the ticket, so they can go in and pay the BF price for that item).
If you think there's something wrong with doing that, how do you feel about people who are in line because someone's paying them to hold their spot? I.e. they're getting paid $50 to stand in line overnight, then someone else takes their place shortly before the doors open.
If you feel that's wrong too, then how about standing in line the entire time, buying the items you got tickets for, then throwing them up on ebay or craigslist?
I know a lot of people think it's wrong to sell the tickets but perfectly fine to turn around and sell the item on ebay, since they had to put up the money and are taking a risk. I don't think that's really valid, because most places not only have a 30-90 day return policy, but will extend that policy starting on BF (basically you'd have at least a month past Christmas to return stuff). So you could put up a free ad on craigslist, if there were no takers just take it back for a full refund. Not a big gamble there.
Ah, the free market system is alive and well!

My plan is to buy as much as possible online, then go out for the rest around 8am--but not in a rabid manner. I've gotten the husband to agree to go out with me and shop awhile, then go have a nice big cholesterol-laden breakfast midmorning, then maybe grab a few more sale items, then go home and have a nice nap. Can't wait!
-
If they were my folks, I'd do a $10 gas or grocery gift card, then use the remaining $3 per person--$1200--to cater a nice lunch or get some item for the office that everyone's been wanting (maybe a better fridge in the break room, or a second microwave if everyone takes lunch at once, or even a library of paperbacks people can borrow from).
-
I usually do candy (esp. Reese's trees and Ghirardelli caramel-filled squares, as he loves those), small $$ amount gift cards, action figures, Hot Wheels, small vacuum-packed coffee bricks, and maybe a paperback. We don't do CDs anymore, since we have everything on mp3. Our stockings are rather skinny, so DVDs and baseball caps and such wouldn't fit. Sometimes I've done things that are clues to something bigger (never car keys, but that would be nice!).
This year I'm inspired by all the other good ideas here. Thanks, everyone!

We set a guideline amount, but if we're over or under, it's not a big deal. Though I must confess if he only spent $17 on me, and I spent $200 on him, I would probably flip out. :)

They're just different. I need the low prices on big-ticket items and DVDs on BF, but I also need the extreme markdowns on Christmas decor and winter clothing after Christmas.
-
Just family on my list, except for my 3 co-supervisors and my boss.
-
Zero! Everyone I buy for is nearby.
Wait--I take that back. I may buy a gift for an overseas soldier this year (I don't know any, so I'll have to find someone who does).
-
We may or may not get a bonus this year. The economy put the kibosh on lots of things at our office, like a company-funded party. Last year we didn't have bonuses at all, but this year my boss said she's pushing hard for a bonus because she'd budgeted for it all year. She isn't going to put up with them telling her no mid-November, but it remains to be seen whether she'll win.

anyone willing to share some cookie recipies with me??? every year i make chocolate chip cookies but am looking for some twists to the original recipie or an all together new recipie to try. The reason im asking now is so i can try them out ahead of time. Thanks in advance.
If you're looking to go really easy, try substituting the chocolate chips in your existing recipe with any number of other things. One of our fave combos is dried cranberries, white chocolate chunks and walnuts. You can also do mint chocolate chips and crushed candy cane bits. Or toffee bits and dried cherries. The possibilities are endless!

Oh yeah, I forgot the most important one:

Yep--no Christmas music collection is complete without this one. Actually, I wouldn't consider a Christmas collection STARTED if you don't have this!

As for the Zunes, the only thing I can think of is that the profit margins for the current models are so low that the stores can't really afford to give anything extra away with them.
I thought they didn't worry about profit margins on loss leaders, lol. I agree with your assessment on the laptops/netbooks, tho.

Oooh, good point on getting the Kohl's cash. I have a Kohl's card, too, so maybe I'll luck out and get bonus points as well! I'll have to remember to keep checking Kohl's when I'm watching for FitBit deals. Thanks!
