  1. Macy's doorbuster free after rebate are great deals.  I got the thermal shirts for teen boys last year and the pillows...definitely a bargain!

Free is hard to beat. Those pillows are actually pretty good. I got the Panini maker last year for $7.99 after $12 rebate and still works great. (Same deal this year)

  2. I'm glad to see them say they will have more people available for Store Pick-up. I got burned with that more than once last season. Between waiting 30 minutes for someone to show up (not even the manager could help me) to taking a month for an item to arrive in store after being guaranteed in 10 days. Yeah, that was the last time I did Store pickup, whether "same day" or "ship to store".

Remains to be seen if I attempt it this year

Or it's finally your turn and the register freezes confusing the cashier who eventually, reluctantly powers it down so you can wait 10 minutes for it to reboot. That's what happened to me last year, they'd have to have something really good for me to even think about going there again this year.

  3. Depending on where they work and if they've been there 6 months or more stores are paying holiday pay plus time and a half for those who volunteer to work on Thanksgiving. Those who don't volunteer still get holiday pay as long as they satisfy the normal requirements for holiday pay. It's not that big of a deal. Those who are doing a turn and burn with only 6 hours between shifts, that isn't legal in Oregon.

  4. They cancelled my skylander's order for in store pick up and now it's sold out for both platforms that I could've used online and in store. Walmart you suck, I'm contemplating canceling my other in store pick up item and just boycotting you for the season. (My order was placed at 7:50 pm)

Update: I did go pick up my other order, it was for my grandson so I couldn't just be stubborn. On my way to in store pick up I looked through the skylanders and found the xbox 360 trap starter set that they cancelled on me because they could not locate it. I did buy it, and now have to return my toys r us order when it comes because apparently their online orders can only be cancelled within 45 minutes of placing the order.

  5. I worked for them holiday season a couple of years ago and the employees did NOT support the protesters and there was NO strike. I was at the biggest performing store in my area- they did One million dollars on the day of their grand reopening after adding grocery. People try to start the same BS each year, and from talking with the regular employees they do NOT support the strike and they are happy. There was a demonstration outside on Thanksgiving/Blackfriday in the parking lot that year, but it was something I read about in the news, there was barely a mention of it from customers and it had zero effect on sales.

  6. Macy's employees aren't required to work Thanksgiving, unless maybe she's a manager. All those shifts were self selected on October 10th. First full shift is 5:45-3:45. Last year they opened at 8:00, so 6:00 isn't a big surprise. Holiday schedule doesn't release until this Friday.

Don't forget Macy's private sale this Sunday from 5:00-10:00pm, 25% off most brands that don't normally go on sale.

  7. I didn't know people were wondering about Macy's, I work there & I've known since September when they were opening. We all submitted a survey of when we would like to work, or if we did not want to be scheduled. The door buster list isn't bad: where it says 30% off Bar III, Kensie & Lucky....it likely includes Free People. Those are impulse brands & they usually go on sale together. I wonder if that means the high end jeans will be on there? Time to do some recon.
