  1. As for the return, it all depends on who is behind the desk. Some people are understanding while others are strict letter of the law types which means they won't let you rebuy it. You have to return the wii then go back to electronics and buy a new one. Luckily, Wii isn't anywhere near as in demand as it has been in Christmas past so they probably won't be sold out if you can go some time this morning.
  2. Couldn't agree more. People were going nuts over the $100 DS system when Target had it that price for a whole week not too long ago. Similar could be said for computers and toys.

Don't get me wrong, there were deals but I think most folks now have the belief that the

day after thanksgiving is the only day to get a bargain. I hope that is the case because then me and the rest of us gotta dealers can snag the bargains every other day of the year.

  3. Happened at my TRU today. Even with two cops out front this mob of 2 or 3 dozen made a break for it when the doors opened. Cops and employees halted most but I am sure a couple slipped through because then there was another skuffle just inside.

Its one of those times when I just have to shake my head and wonder about people...

Maybe they should change black Friday to Sunday afternoon right after church and see if that makes people behave any better.

  4. I don't judge because I'm not their parents but it isn't something I would do. It is one thing to bring a teen or tween that is excited and wants to go but another to drag out the little ones in the cold or rain to stand in place in the dark for hours.

At that age, my gifts that I really wanted were all from "Santa" so it would've kinda ruined that side of things to see mom or dad buying them then at the store.

I also disagree with the notion that BF shopping is the only way kids are getting ANYTHING.

It may be the only way a parent can afford a hot item but there are lots of cheap toys all year long. Some times I think it is ok for a kid not to get the thing they are dying for. I know as parents you want to give them everything but it is okay also to teach the lesson of being thankful for whatever you get on Christmas because it isn't all about the gifts.

With all that said, to any parent who does take their little ones out, go for it. There isn't any one right way to be a parent and taking kids to BF is hardly the worst thing you can do.

  5. I got there at 10pm and it was madness. It wrapped around the whole strip mall that TRU anchors and got to the point I couldn't see the end some time around 11:30. Only got crazier as time passed. They had tickets for the horse but nothing else and they didn't hand them out until you were in the store. Electronics had another line formed in the store at opening and they only let about a dozen people in at a time.

I just followed the mob past everything and headed strait to that line to get the Ipod I came for. Luckily I got it and was out by 1:30am. Lots of pushing, arguing, profanity the whole time despite the police being outside and a few in store helping the poor associates.

I had considered maybe staying out to go other places after but the bad apples at TRU

spoiled Black Friday for me this year. I'm just happy I got the one thing I really wanted and got out of there in one piece.

  6. We've had the regular wii fit for a while. I agree that you should just keep what you have and pick up the extra later. There is plenty to do on regular wii fit so I don't think I'll get the extra unless there is a really good deal on it between now and christmas. If they had changed the balance board or something, I'd say get the plus but all things considered, I think you already got the better deal.
