For those who shop Academy it is known that their real sales are listed in the ad as "Hot Deals". I went to Academy to purchase a fire arm this morning which was in their ad as one of their 2-day "Hot Deals". They had another fire arm that was a 1-day door buster. I was very disappointed to learn that while they had an abundant supply of the door buster fire arm, their "Hot Deal" fire arms were limited. One in particular had less than 10 per store. I realize it does say while supplies last, but 8-10 isn't really much of a supply when there are 50 in line before the store even opens. They would have been better served putting them all as door busters and stating limited quantities available. My overall issue is the lack of communication within 2 of the stores I visited. Neither store let shoppers know when certain models sold out, nor was there any mention of the possibility limited stock. The lack of communication caused customers to wait additional hours only to be disappointed. The relaying of information would have allowed customers to adjust and make decisions. If I had known the potential of limited stock then I know I either need to get there earlier, or face not getting the specific item I want. So is this typical for Black Friday at Academy?
