Pumped up and ready to roll here too! Seeing the ads here on Gottadeal has just made me even more excited! This is my favorite time of the year, I wouldn't give up my BF shopping for anything. :)

Another thing you can do is send feedback about that employee through WalMart.com. I used the feedback to send a compliment to an employee last week, and Saturday morning the store manager called me to let me know they received it, and to thank me for taking the time to do it. Those feedback forms ARE read, so it's definitely worth doing, especially if you were treated rudely. :)

Another tip if you are using your debit card on BF. If you plan on spending a lot of money, it won't hurt to call your bank to alert them, and raise your daily spending limits if necessary. This will prevent a temporary fraud block, and declines at the register. As long as you have enough money in your account, any bank will up your daily limit for you. :)

I have worked in retail on BF, but my experience was much nicer than the first one posted. I worked at KBToys for the Holidays one year, and of course I was scheduled on BF. The store opened at 5AM, so folks were lined up when I got there at 3:30. They were all patiently waiting, chatting, drinking coffee and having a good time. Once the store opened, those same folks bombarded the store but kept the same good spirit they had outside. Since then, KBToys is always my first stop on BF because they open first. Now I stand in line with those same folks and we all enjoy talking about which stores we are hitting after KB. It's a fun experience if you make it one! If you run into a miserable associate on BF, take an extra moment to tell them to have a nice day, don't work too hard, etc. Just a little extra attention goes a long way. They are just as stressed as us shoppers are! Associates, keep in mind the reason you have a job is because shoppers like myself are willing to stand in long lines and give your employers our hard earned money. :)

I am hoping Sears will have their BF deals online this year too. I am torn between them and WalMart on where to stand in line!

Does anyone know if the Sears BF items are available online that day? They have a great price on an LCD TV, but they open at the same time as my Wal-Mart and I am torn!

I go with my best friend, the hubby stays with our children. It's the one day of the year we can leave the house way before the sun comes up and stay out until we are completely broke without a husband calling and asking when we will be back. It's understood we are shopping hard and we are to be left alone unless there is a child emergency LOL

I've shopped both ways -- with a purse and without. I definitely prefer not having a purse with me now. I am fortunate to be in RI, by BF it is generally freezing/snowy here, so I can wear jeans (keep cash/credt cards in the pockets), and a heavy zippered sweatshirt over the other layers (which has deep, zippered pockets for the cell phone and keys). As the day goes on and it starts to thaw out, I can take layers off under the sweatshirt and still leave that on to hold my small accessories. Hint: If your weather is on the cold side for BF shopping, get some hand warmers to put in your gloves. They only cost a buck and they last me from 3AM till 5 when KB Toys opens up. After that, the adrenaline keeps you warm LOL. I suggest leaving the purse at home this year. Plan your shopping outfit out well in advance, make sure you've got lots of pockets, warm clothes if needed, comfy shoes and you will be good to go! :) Melissa
