  1. Need help planning for next summer. I have two boys(will be) 13 and 15 and we will be going to Universal Studios next year.

Are there any deals out there that I can get early for the parks?? Is there a recommended hotel to stay at? Are there any discounts? What other things would interest teenagers... and you got it, are there discounts anywhere?

We're from Texas and have never been to CA. so any help or advice is appreciated.

    Thanx a million!

  2. I just bit on a 30gb version at Frys.com for $170 after a $50 rebate just last week. In general, you can find an iPod that does most of what the Zen can do, but you usually pay a higher premium because of the trendy name.

I actually started typing out a list of pros/cons for each, but there are literally hundreds (thousands?) of articles and opinions on the web comparing the Zen Vision: M to a video iPod. Just Google "Zen Vision M vs. iPod" and you'll see a lot of opinions.

In my OPINION, the Zen Vision: M technically blows the Video iPod out of the water. The only possible reason I would have considered going with anything else would be if I wanted a flash-based player for cardio workouts (in which case I would have gotten a Zen: V) or if I wanted one of the 1000s of accessories that companies make only for the iPod (because they have a large installed user-base).

How did you get the rebate?

  3. i have never regifted , but someone regifted back to me. i gave a gift and got it back.

That's funny. My friends Grandmother gave her a photo album that she had given her the previous Christmas. Even funnier, she had it customized for her Grandmother.

  4. We always make this the night before, let it rise and cook it in the morning. I got this off of a famous recipe sight on the Internet, so unfortunately I can't take credit for this fabulous recipe. All I know is EVERYONE requests it for every event\holiday!! It IS very fattening, so I only make them on special occassions. But it is sooooooo good, thought I would share.

    Clone of a Cinnabon

    INGREDIENTS

    1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)

    2 eggs, room temperature

    1/3 cup margarine, melted

    4 1/2 cups bread flour

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 cup white sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

    1 cup brown sugar, packed

    2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

    1/3 cup butter, softened

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

    1/4 cup butter, softened

    1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1/8 teaspoon salt

    DIRECTIONS

Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.

After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

Roll dough into a 16x21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.

  5. I've made this for about 15 years now for thanksgiving. Last year I made 6 batches.

    Pumpkin Bread:

    3 cups Sugar

    3 1/2 cups Flour

    2 tsp. Baking Soda

    1/2 tsp. Salt

    1 tsp. Nutmeg

    1 tsp. Cinnamon

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

    1 cup Oil

    2/3 cup Water

    4 eggs

1 29 oz can (About 3 ½ cups) canned pumpkin

    2 cups chocolate chips

    3/4 chopped walnuts

Make a well and place remaining ingredients in well.

Mix and place in three well-greased loaf pans.

Bake at 350 F for 1 hour until a toothpick placed in the center comes out clean.

I love to bake pumpkin bread in a jar(pint sz canning jar) and hand it out to my neighbors for Christmas presents. It's always such a big hit. Thanks for the recipe I'll have to try this.

  6. The only tradititon our family has is, we let the kids pick out their own ornaments after Thanksgiving (while the pickins are good).(These ornaments are stored in a special box to keep in good condition) On the bottom of the ornaments I mark the year. My plan is to give them their ornaments when they get married. We've been doing this for 12 years and I have watched them grow from winnie the pooh to LeBron James(NBA). It's really neat to watch your kids grow up and change like this.
