  1. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I was feeling really down and out because this is the first time in 23 years that I've been unemployed and thought that I wouldn't be able to get anything for my two sons. They both say they understand but in reality a 9 year old and 15 year old are still looking forward to Christmas--especially because of what they'd been accustomed to. I feel blah! Depressed is more like it. Looking through the ads, there was nothing worth going through my annual BF-athon for, so I felt a little better that I wasn't missing out on anything. Atleast here I can anonymously vent without trying to put on the face of wonderwoman. This is usually my favorite time of year. In a way I'm glad all the ads suck and in a way I wish they were better to cheer me up.:indiffere :indiffere
  2. The only thing I don't like about CompUSA is that they require you to subscribe to an ISP in order to get the best price on computers and laptops--otherwise they charge you more for the item. I don't want AOL or Earthlink and don't think I should have to pay more for a computer just because I don't need them as my ISP.
  3. Questions about debit cards...

-If you return the item, how is the money debited back into your account?

-Would there be any differences in returning the item ( cash or debit )?

-Is it easy and simple to return the item and get your money back?

I don't feel comfortable carrying loads of cash on me, so I'm considering my options. Once I figure out how it works. LoL.

    Thanks!

:gd_dollar Debit cards work just like credit cards.:g_thumbri
  4. I wish I had a shopping buddy for BF and I'm not married. All of my friends think I'm crazy to shop on Black Friday. I think I need to get some new friends that appreciate a good deal and aren't so "high class."

Wow and I thought I was the only one! I just moved to L.A. and my sister frowns on BF shopping as being not produtive and tacky.:bs: I want to take my oldest son shopping with me (15 but looks older) so that he can wait on one line while I'm at another one mile apart but he stays with her to go to school and she is against him going. If I take him, then she won't let him continue to stay with her to go to school.

  5. Thanks... Seems like it would be simpler if they had the same name, since they're both run by AAFES. What do the Marines and Coast Guard have?

The Marines and the Coast Guard are both supported by the NEX (Navy Exchange Service). They tend to have better prices sometimes, too, and a better inventory. :bounce_fl
  6. Being the youngest, my mother would take me with her shopping while my sisters and brothers were in school. The things she bought were the same things everyone had asked for, so I was about four when I told everyone my mom was going to he** for lying to us that Santa bought the things and showed them where she hid everything while she was out of the house. Our fire place had been sealed, so there was no way he could even get in! They teased my mom about it on Christmas day and for a long time afterwards. Then when I was five, my "godmother" who was actually the 19 year old daughter of my godmother took me to a Kiddie Kabaret for Christmas. She kept telling me to go play with the other kids. I didn't like them, because I was used to playing with my older siblings, so I went looking for her. Needless to say, I found her in a liplock with a guy dressed as Santa. I hid under the table and watched them and a few minutes later he put on his beard and hat and proceeded into the main room to the cheers of the crowd. I went right out behind him and he tried the "ho-ho-ho what do you want for Christmas little girl" line as he picked me up. I sat on his lap and snatched his beard off and said "You're not Santa Claus...you're the man that was back there kissing Denise!" The kids went crazy screaming and crying and Denise grabbed me and we left the party immediately. It was dark outside and cold and she threatened to leave me to walk to her house while she caught the bus. She got about half a block away and came back for me and vowed to never take me anywhere again. She got in more trouble than I did, though. I asked her father to take me home and he apologized for her leaving me on the street and took me home.
  7. :jester: I'm new to L.A. and wanted to know which stores the L.A. members are going to visit on Black Friday. I live in Ladera Heights and will be at Comp USA and then going to the AAFES exchange (BX) in El Segundo. It would be neat if we could get Gotta deal buttons to wear so that if we see each other, we can say "Hey". It would be neat if Ross or Brad would give a button after you get to 150 points. :bounce_fl It would be great to see some of the people that I've come to hear from on an almost daily basis and associate a face with the name. Some of you seem as though you already have made a connection with each other outside:2roller:
  8. I've been going shopping on Black Friday every since my 15 year old was about three ....I had to leave him with my mother and some Barney Tapes so that he'd be okay the next morning when he woke up and I wasn't there. She died the November before his 4 year old Christmas and I remember that I didnt' go shopping that year, as we were with out of town family :holiday02
  9. My suggestion would be KOHLS. We usually get their Black Friday ad and they usually have both of what you're looking for on sale every year at really great prices PLU-U-U-U-U-U-S-S-S-S-S they offer first shopper incentives, such as coupons and free things to the first 50 or 100 shoppers through the doors. My oldest sister loves them on Black Friday, although she hates Black Friday shopping. Kohls is usually one of the calmer stores. (And I intended on spelling plus that way!);)
