I really don't have a plan, but since I'm on staycation the week of Thanksgiving, I think I might do it sometime that week.
-
I am in heaven when walking by a Christmas tree lot or passing those lined up outside the grocery store. I will always slow down to savor the scent. I am also madly in love with the smell and flavor of cloves.

This year we are each bringing a wrapped gift (haven't decided on price yet) and we're going to play Bingo. The gifts will be the prizes. As the supervisor, I'll bring a couple extra as consolation prizes.

This is a great gift for someone who loves and/or rescues cats. It would also be good for someone who has lost their dear feline friend.
Ok, yes. I would love this.

We don't exchange gifts, but DH and I go shopping for things we want on Thanksgiving/Black Friday. This year I'll be buying my usual sheets from WalMart. Looking for a new electric griddle, wool socks, and maybe a little car vacuum. OMG! Looking at my list, I think I've turned into my mom!

It's A Wonderful Life
A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Story
A Christmas Carol (most of them!) Last year, DH and I tried to watch as many Christmas Carols as possible. There are A LOT!

Let's chat - what holiday treats are you making this year?
What do you need help with? Let the power of the GD Holiday forum help you out!
Allow me to start:
I would like to find more cookie recipes that do not require eggs - I have someone at work that doesn't eat eggs, and every year I stretch to find some recipe that doesn't have eggs, and it's always some kind of shortbread. Is there anything else out there?

Bon Bon cookies don't require eggs!

Usually there's a bunch of us (anywhere from 10 to 25) and we do potluck, but this year it's just my brother, sister, DH and me. We're going out to Golden Corral. No cooking, no cleanup. Not even sad about no leftovers.

That Shark 2-in-1 stick vac for $10 seems like a great deal!

Sheets from WalMart. Used to buy the Tidy Cat from Petsmart too, but we're down to just one cat now, and he uses Slide.
-
We got a new tree from Walmart on Thanksgiving. We put it up the next day, in honor of our cat's 13 year gotcha-versary. He loves the tree so much. He sleeps under it every day.

I've done many themes over the years, but found what I really love is the traditional look.

We do this. My nephews are grown now, so I only have two great-nephews - 10 and 11 years old. DH and I might buy for each other, but usually he and I just buy stuff for ourselves on Thanksgiving/Black Friday. We'll probably buy for our cat.
We celebrate in so many other ways throughout the month: seeing my brother in Nutcracker, getting together for munchies and games, Christmas movies, driving around to see the lights, baking together, etc.

Nothin'. Which is cool, since that is what I expect to get.

I'm in the minority right along with you...I enjoy shopping on Thanksgiving as well
DH and I like to go out on Thanksgiving evening too.

I'll be shopping for a washer and an electric dryer on BF. I have been slow to act on this need because I have read nothing good about the current crop. Reviews talk about exploding Samsung washers, failed transmissions in front loaders, and rusting drums after only a few years. Besides looking for good prices, I will watch this forum for recommendations from people who LOVE their washer. Thank you!
We've been very happy with our LG pair that we bought several years ago (they were Consumer Reports recommended at the time.)

Gift baskets
in 2016
Sister and brother-in-law are big sports fans, so I'm thinking of sports-themed (probably football) basket - with t-shirts or sweatshirts, and other fan gear in a cooler.

Has anyone bought a car on Black Friday? Are there really better deals than on other days?

it's about giving a gift to show love, it's not about how many gifts or how much each gift cost!!!!
This.

We've bought those wonderful sheets from Walmart the last two years. Love them! So hard to find such a great deal on quality sheets for our king-size bed. All sizes were the same price.
